  4. this is the best forum there is and a good place to start would be an introduction with a little bit about your self. we are mainly into traditional rods
so tell us about how much you plan to chop this tanker

dunno anything about 'em. but if you end up swapping it out there is someone in the cl***ified section looking for that engine.

Well be advised all parts for that truck are made of un-obtainium, particulary caps and rotors. I had a 51 with the 906 big 12. My first sugestion especially if the truck has been sitting for any time is to make up a aux. fuel supply system. Use 5 gallon can with a electric pump and connect to the outlet side of the stock pump.Disconect the inlet side of the stock pump before running. If it now runs OK start checking out the fuel system tank forward. If not take a compression test ,as if you have ran the engine with sour fuel you may now have stickey valves. All I would do now to the iginion system is make sure all the points are clean and opening/closing. Normally you do not run both ign. systems at the same time. These engines are bit trickey to tune up and adjust timing. If you feel the need PM me your phone # and I can give you a call as my 2 finger typing ****s LOL
