Any body here ever redue the roof skin on a truck due to a bad chop? Maybe filling it in with another cars roof or hood skin? If anybody gots any build pictures, Ill be in your debt!
Got any photo's of what your dealing with so we can kind of get an idea of what your trying to fix? I had to redo the chop on my 52 Chevy truck, but was able to use the original tin..just had to go over everything that was already done..
No, but I know where one is that has to be redone for that reason. I just need to redo mine because we didn't do it right when we filled in the roof where the sunroof had been. Undoing an early 80's mod. I leaned the posts on my truck originally and didn't split the roof.
had to re-do a 40 ford pickup, one good thing to have...........PORTA-POWER. took a week but managed to get it to come around and the truck is now black. take your time and think things through. use a piece of 2 inch styrofoam insulation long enough to trace the contour of the roof both ways, then hit the bone yards.
if it's just the top skin that's a problem. it should be an easy fix. On my chopped and extended 54 GMC I would of had six welds to deal with across the center of the roof. I chose to use the roof skin off a 55 chev 4 door instead. It's on my website under shop truck build www.oldcargl***guy.com
