OK, I know we shouldn't generally post for sale stuff here on the message board, but I thought I would make an exception here for my friend **** Stienkamp who is selling his Studebaker Ute and because he did such an incredible job on this car and lastly because the ebay page he has for is has some seriously nice shots of the car that even if you aren't interested in the car to buy, are very nice to see. A bunch of shots I hadn't even seen yet. So, I thought others might enjoy the shots and the info in the listing as well. If the mods think otherwise, obviously feel free to delete thread. But, hopefully a few people can enjoy the read on it if nothing else. Man, I really wish I had the money and space for it myself. I saw it at GNRS and it really is a super sweet car. :)

here is the link for it:

here is one photo I was able to pull out of the source code but there are a bunch more and some really interesting build and history info. too.:

It's a hell of an interesting read on the car even if a guy isn't interested in buying it.

I didn't realize that it had been built out of a coupe nor that the original work had been done that early.

He probably will, but I was just posting it here so others can just enjoy the photos and info. they might otherwise miss if they aren't looking in the cl***ifieds. Since I am not in the position to be buying things right now, I haven't been to the cl***ifieds for quite a while and would never have seen it there. If **** hadn't sent me the link to the listing directly, I probably would have missed it entirely as I am not checking ebay much lately either. Anyway, as mentioned, hopefully some of you guys can at least enjoy the page **** put together for it.

Thanks, Michael. The story behind this Ute is pretty neat. First appeared in the 1959 Oakland Roadster Show. I found the original builder and he has helped me with the restoration of it. A real hot rod hero for sure! I hate to see it go, but I'm looking forward to the next project :D

  6. Well that's certainly a lot better looking than the HAWK-emino running around here.

I think the whole idea behind not posting e-pay links is that it is considered spam. But in the light of just showing us the old ride well.

Why don't you just post the info on it as a thread and forget to mention that it is up for sale. it would stir the thinkers on here for sure.

Or better yet post it for sale in the cl***ifieds with a set price for a determined amount of thime and give one of the fellas with bucks a chance to buy it outright.

    Just a though or two.

Getting back to it its a neat old piece of history.

    Very cool ride indeed.

  9. I recognize that car from a recent magazine. What issue is it in? It's a cool car.

How much are you asking for your 53 ute?
