I have found several dual carb intakes, but not for my exact year.

First off, i should mention my 263 is stock with no mods. Now that i got that out of the way...:D ....
I found a dual carb set up off of a 42. Will i be able to use my current stock 53 exhaust manifold?? What other parts will i have to or not have to change??
On another subject, the previous owner installed a 12v alt.The only thing that i can trace down from the wiring is a ceramic resistor located on the firewall.

The '41-'42 dual carb intake will not bolt up to the heat exchange on your '53 exhaust manifold; you may be able to make a blockoff plate for the exhaust, but I'm not sure if there will be any physical interference between the two manifolds. If your manifold still has the stock progressive carb setup, you'd do well to replace the secondary carb with another primary carb and run straight linkage.

thurstin, you will not find a dual carb intake for your exact year because they did not make one. the 41-42 intakes are the only years buick made them. if you have run across several you have better luck than most who are looking for one. i would suggest trying to find one that also comes with the dual ex. manifolds. it won't bolt right on, due to the motor mount being in the way, but thats any easy problem to fix.
