When driving on a rural road to look at some dirt bikes, I spotted it right outside a small very old garage. It was baby blue that looked like an old brush paint job. It was a 29 Model A roadster! I could not believe what I saw and the condition of it. It had the stock wheels all the fenders and running boards were there the hood was there too and the chrome grille shell was still shining in the sun the glass and the windshield posts were there too. I have passed this garage a few times before but never seen this car. Sadly I have no money so I didn't even bother stopping and asking about it or if it was for sale. There was my dream car in cherry condition and I keep thinking about the lost chance. Anyone have a similar story? Do you think therapy will help?
Stop and ask anyway. Money is cheap right now get a loan if price is fair. There are a lot of cars I would not have owned had it not been for credit. Even better get a 6 month deferred payment loan. It will give you time to make a little side money before payments start.
Stop and ask about it! If it isn't for sale just think how good it will make you feel being broke and all. Don't feel bad about being broke, everyone is right now.
get back on the bike and check it out again von moldy .. like it's been suggested , maybe a deal could be struck ? i've gone back to look at these kinda things and i have been surprised what turns out
On our one hour trip to holiday world with me we past enough old cars and trucks to fill a good sized parking lot. But I only had cash, wasn't driving, and didn't know where we were anyway.
Maybe stop and try to make friends with the owner. Tell the truth, that you are broke and not trying to buy, but you like and appreciate the car. If they let you look, thank them and leave your name and number for future consideration. Might work out for you...it has before.
broke is the new cool....i spent 200 bucks of my 800 dollar net worth on steelies this weekend at the roadster show......good ol paycheck to paycheck life.....
I always wind up going back sooner or later, money on hand or not. Things like this haunt me til I find out what is going on with the car
I woulld go back too. My Dad died 2 years ago. Dad loved 56 f100's so he had two to make one real nice one. One was original, the other was grafting a camaro sub and has kelsey hayes mags blah blah. My nephew was helping cause Dad was wheelchair bound with parkinsons. I was asked if I wanted them, but I defered to my nephew since he did most the work. well, ya he says, but wont do anything with them. One day out of the blue my sister GIVES THEM BOTH AWAY! The turkey took all my leftover parts too. I wont give my sister alot of grief over it, but hey, they live in happy valley. I did tell my mom that some of the parts were mine and they gave away about 6 grand worth of car parts and trucks as being a widow she needed a new car and I couldnt help much from across the country. The thing that really pissed me off was the guy wont return my call, and he knows he has my stuff. So hey, go back..........
GO BACK!!!!! like someone said you never know, if you do get in the situation where you can't afford it pass the info on to a fellow HAMBER then you know something will be done with it and not rot
i was lurking a couple days ago on here and saw a 51 international for sale for i think it was $400. didnt have the money til today and when i registered and everything, went to find it and its gone. theres only two kinds of therapy i recomend; breaking shit or drinkin beer. i might do both tonight.
This is your lucky day! I just saw a local ad here for a 51 int p.u. no bed, but a hotrod chassis, trans and a 350 engine for $300, no shit, I went and looked it's still there. p.m me if you are interested, I tried to get the link, it's a local Nex-Tec site. Lippy
Man it never hurts just to stop and ask, it doesnt cost anything to do that and you may be surprised. I had a truck GIVEN to me once because i stopped and asked
