What an awesome show!!! It was a little hot (95 degrees & 100% humidity), but it was worht it. Cacklefest was one of the coolest things I've ever seen! I also met the famous Denise (hotrodladycruiser for the newbies) in the mob on the track during Cacklefest. The topper was my very good friend winning the Nostalgia Super Stock class with his oldest son driving the car, his youngest son as the crew and 3 of his grandsons there to see it. What a Fathers Day present!! Enough babbling, here's a couple preview pics. Was nice meeting you too bud! What a weekend huh??? I've got some photos and videos I'll be sharing in a few days. Stay tuned.
That sorta looks like Jim Winters' car (HAMBer "the hot rod grille").... Jim, were you there? Did I miss ya?
WOW...4 shots of Pinocchio in the collection. I suspect you were the fellow with the remote strobe who really seemed to know what he was doing with a camera. Your finished product proves I was right. Thanks from Geppetto's Speed Shop HAMB crew.
Nope, that wasn't me. Just a regular guy with a decent camera. On my way to knowing what I am doing, I hope.
I do believe you are referring to HAMBer Mike The Photo Guy. Not only was he running around the track during the cacklefest shooting everything but afterwards he shot quit a bit of your car as he was standing around chatting with us. He was the tall, handsome dude with dark hair and a dark mustache that had a gay cuff on his Levi's.
I think the grey 33 five window belongs to a gentlemen i Louisville,Kentucky with the last name Wells,i worked with his son Tim wells.
Thanks for the pics. I seemed to never have my camera around when I needed it, lol. And you're right, the heat was nearly unbearable. But standing 30' behind the lights when the nitro top fuelers did their burn outs and launches was THE most awesome car related experience I've ever had.
Be Nice! I know photoshop inside and out. Revenge could be pretty brutal. I had to cuff my pants. The jeans were soaked with sweat and I lost 8 lbs from the heat. At one point I was shooting barefoot. Ken Anderson came by and had me put some shoes on. I tried to tell him we were in Kentucky and it was tradition, but he wasn't buying it. Mike TPG
Cool pics. The Hog Mountain crew were just up track between the Gizzlehopper and Garlits. Except for Rich, when he stopped by the pits, I missed seeing y'all. So close...
Dave; I missed saying HI to ya when you came over to the campground to visit Doug & Frank.. I was sittin in a chair holdin' my head.. WAY to much SUN !! Rick
Thanks for posting the photos Mike. Due to the heat and Nitro fumes my brain has no memory of you taking them...or maybe I'm just getting old! Any way, thanks a ton.
You ALWAYS take some bas ass photos Mike! Thanks for sharing! As usual, it was alot of fun hanging out with you.
Hog Mtn; Yep,that was me..I was feelin like crap. Doug packed up early Sunday as well,he had enough !! Rick =======================================.
