Im going with Hearse side marker lights..that would be probably on the B pillar..or just at the rear of the Hearse , on each side of the rear door?

    are they 6 volt..or 12?

if they were aircraft related..there should also be a green one, if they were wing tip or Nav. Lights.

They are either 12 or 6, you can install either bulb and the wire has a screw type terminal. I was thinking some 60s chopper stuff?? But I've never seen anything close to these??

I'm still thinking they're from a hurse. Probably running lights towards the rear of the car. If they were on a cab they would probably be amber/orange.

I did a search for various year of hurses, but the pictures weren't too detailed. Hard to tell. Looks like there are possibilities though...

It's weird the lense flips or mounts either way, up or down to the chrome.

  14. Well i found a pic of a red 1937 Delahaye coupe but could,nt swipe it because the guy had a copyright on it. It had the same side lights as these two that i have here. Not the same as yours but they have the same function. They are a sort of extension of the fancy stainless steel body trim. Like i said, probably of a fancy French car. How did a fancy French car get in Uraguay or South America for that fact ? Besides some wealthy person just ordering a new European car there was another possibility. Everyone knows that during and after WWII high ranking German SS officers fled to South America and took lots of confiscated goods with them. They took cars along too. So thats my take on your mystery sidelights. Just need to find that one good pic to confirm.

34 Gaz.... I think you're on to something.... Uraquay is loaded with Europeans I was told, and not the typical the typical Latin decent of people, mostly Anglo Saxon's!:D

These could be off some old european car from the 30s or 40s?

I do like the base on your lights very cool! thank you!!

you might look at old boats as well, I could swear I have seen those on an old Chris Craft, then again, they might not have been original

The lenses are German, made by SWF
    ("Spezial Werkzeugfabrik Feuerbach").
The company got rich from making those little turn signals that swing out from the side (semaphores) for all the German cars back in the day, then branched out into glass and plastic lenses.

Sure are fugly, might be boat or aircraft, as has been mentioned.
They might also be very rare, from Horch, Maybach, etc.
Google "swf gmbh" to reach the company, still in business.

man i dig those, but i would put them on the inside pillars or something as i would be for pissed if some moron ran into one at the gas station or something as i would imagine that they would be hard to find replacement lenses for

I was at the LA Roadsters show this past weekend and there was an all original '32 Vickie there that had been in a " barn" in Sweden, or Norway, ??? for 75 years, and it had lights very similar to these, at the front and rear of the body. I thought that they must have been an aftermarket sort of turn signal, even though we couldn't see any switch to activate them. So maybe they were, as someone already suggested, German made. I thought if someone left them on this Vickie and one got broken, there would be NOOO way to find another. :D

I still can't believe Bluto hasn't come up with a better answer, than "You bought them, they can be what ever you want them to be"...

I think my world has just come to a stop...

The days when you could count on Bluto or Bruce Lancaster to tell you what you had have come to a complete cease... This blows..

    Cool lights though.

In this case it's the best answer ...... some prople don't ant to know they just have a set of clearace lights. Honestly if they came of a super valuable French car they wouldn't be German........

Most countries here require lights like these on the rear quarters.

Reminds me at Hershey old hagg tried to sell me a set of Simca fender lamps as Bugatti These so small they'd get lost on a T57

Every puppy has to have a name............

    End of story

And the days of me posting here a bunch ended when posters think a to word answer is an acceptable post. I hate "thumb typers" 500 posts all adding up to a paragraph ........A'holes

Cool, I didn't know about the clearance lights deal. I'd go crazy over all sorts of goofy little lights...then again I go crazy every time you post a little trinket of some sort..

"Honestly if they came of a super valuable French car they wouldn't be German........" this has to be the most senseable thing I've heard all day.

I agree "Thumb Typers" suck... 500 posts and all you've said is LOL... sweet...
