I visited Jaypee and he said I must introduce myself immediately so here I go: Im 26 years old, I work as a maintenance engineer and I´m doing my postgraduate studies in Tampere University of Technology. I live with my girl friend in a small town of Rauma which is located in the west coast of Finland. I have been keen of American cars about 10 years now, I bought my first Chevelle ´65 when I was 17-year-old. Currently my driver is Bel Air ´53 equipped with SBC-Aluminium PG-10bolt combo. Mild customization includes Cad taillights and lowering. Chop job and two door hardtop modifications are in my mind. I also started Chevrolet ´38 rod, but it was too high, too new, couldn´t remove fenders and so on. So I sold it recently unaccomplished. I have also written to Finnish Kustom Kulture Magazine called Primer. And now we´re getting back in business I just love those old school period perfect rods! I´m building a T-Tudor ´27 with 346 Cad Flattie. Unfortunately that will be totally outlaw here in Finland, but that doesnt matter. The top is lowered 5 inches, the body on the frame has been lowered the same, the front is suicide-style and there is 5 inches deep kick-up. In the rear frame there is also some kick up, it´s about 15 inches I´ve also collected some junk to my ´28 A-Tudor, which should be able to register some day. Ok, maybe that´s it. I already know that you guys love pictures, so here you are
My old ´64 Biscayne which I built up a few years ago. It was quite a rat rod here in Finland. It used to be hard-roofed four-door sedan.
Welcome from Ireland ... Cool chevy .. I am building a 50 chevy kustom over in Belfast.Looks like you guys have the rust bug just like us!!
You´re right, first those old relics survived of World Wars. After that they have to suffer from that damn rust bug... Thank God there´re some talented hot rodders keeping them alive!
Blownolds: I do have some more pictures, but they are from the time before digicameras so I will scan them here. I quess the unusual appearance of Biscayne comes about those low-mounted headlights, slanted wind shield and tall cruise skirts...?
