My Dad and few buddies of his are interested in those flatty bikes, is there a web site that has info on them? Does anyone here have one or have riden one? Any info would be real cool thanks. -Jesse
There's a fellow out this neck of the woods (northern Illinois) making them for years. Olson Auto 1-815-827-3110.
honest charleys makes em.i think they are around 20 grand.but buy a new harley and see what they cost.the only thing i read is they need better brakes.but they are so cool.
I really don't know much about them and havn't talked to anyone with one, so don't go by what I say. But they must weigh a couple hundred pounds more than a traditional Harley, I think they only have one speed, and should put out about 60 hp. I'm thinking it would go like a Sportster with a 400 lb. rider stuck in third gear. They do look cool as hell though! Really well proportioned for a V8 bike.
for a morph bike -I like some of the look...what worries me about that price is the fact that new bore and pistons were not mentioned and AS IS [and 50 wt oil]-kinda clears that mystery up for me. I was gonna do a bike like that with a a few years ago- 2.8 S10 V6 [compact] and around 110 HP /even smaller than the v8 60 and lighter....[I regained my senses though and bought a 1500 Vulcan.]
I believe Coker Tire is funding the V8-60 bikes. They have two at their booth at the Hershey Swap meet every year.
10-4 37 Kid, Coker owns Honest Charlie. They are built on a Honda frame, one speed, and come with a Honda title. In a state like Pa. they technically aren't legal because you can't mix MC and car. Sound great, though.
The real problem is that I have had a few folks tell me that the bikes really can't be ridden due to handling difficulties and such. These were people involved in the manufacture, so I believe them. Another thing they told me was that the gearing was such that 45 mph would be top speed, IF you had the death wish. Just another 90's image thing, drug into the next century. Cosmo
