Alright people... I have been on the fence on whether or not to chop my 2dr. 52 styleline before I paint it up. Here is what I need. Does anyone have a thread that shows IN DETAIL with pics on how to chop one up? I searched the archives and the best one I could find was rxrogers and that Awesome removable top. And a few on 4dr models. I gotta see it to do it, ya' know? A buddy and I are "pretty sure" we can do it. I would just like a thread that covers it for reference. So if anyone has one for a similar year/ model it would be greatly appreciated.
Flop has a nice thread about chopping his pontiac, pretty close to your chev... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=239775
spoken from the man himself! Hey Flop. There are a ton of chops on here man. I had a 50 chevy for a bit and was planning on chopping, pop that search function with some different stuff and you'll find a few for sure. good luck and definately chop before paint, if you dont then you NEVER will again. JC
Yeah but the guy asking the question says hes got a Styleline, not a coupe. uh... Stylines were coupes, 2 door sedans and 4 door sedans. are you thinking Fleetline? Fleetline was the fastback
Yep... I thought Sylelines were only 2 and 4 door sedans. The guy who started the thread probably has a 2 door sedan anyway! Lets see some pics
It is a 1952 Chevy Deluxe Series 2100... NSA tells me that Chevy did have both a 2dr sedan and a coupe. But honestly I don't know the difference and the car is at a buddies getting new floor pans so I can't post a pic! lol. Grabbed it out of a guys barn (literally) and paid $800.00. Had all the trim intact. Gl*** was good. Rust where there always is, and a 235 out of a later year I think... because it had the automatic choke, and I am under the impression that all 52's still had the manual choke. Here's one I would value your opinion on... should I keep the 235 from another year in here(it seems to turn over fine) or drop a larger engine in her? I got a buddy that owes me one anyway, and I don't feel the loyalty to it considering it isn't original. But it's still cool. I know a $hit ton about old bikes, this is my first attempt at a cage. Thoughts and comments always welcome.
