I swear, they grow 'em some big balls accross the pond. We need these kinds of DRIVING events here in the states! Damn, Finlanders kick our scrawny American ***es at rockin'(go listen to the Flaming Sideburns) and now roddin'. By the way, that's a gorgeous chop on your Buick, Kartsa.
cant do that kinda **** in america cuz people are afraid for other peoples well being....i dont care about mine as much as a real hot rods.....
JEEEZUUUS You Finnish Rodders are stone cold crazy hell i don't thing 4X4 clubs are brave enough to do what you guys did LOL those pics were totally *****in
[ QUOTE ] Humboldt Cat:Man, I live for posts like these. We should do more of that stuff here in the States! (if we don't already) [/ QUOTE ] yep, should...
Kartsa, thanks for that. My darling wife is of Finnish descent. And from Northern Ontario (where a bunch settled....something about the birch trees and loooong winters!) You guys are amazing. Build'em and DRIVE them!! For those who don't know, Finns are probably the greatest drivers on the planet. Something about learning to drive fast on ice and snow (ZERO traction = handling a skittish ride). That quarry's just a little warmer. Coupla sites on the "Flying Finns" http://www.flyingfinns.com/ http://www.ahsdc.org/goblins/tech/left_foot_braking.htm Looks like you guys had a blast!! OH YEAH, love your Buick. -Keith
In my younger days, I worked in a stone quarry here in the states, Carthage Marble Co. I can tell you it is not easy to drive vehicles made for hauling and driving on quarry roads. To drive a hot rod like these dudes do, takes big ones.
My friend Asmo beats his ´58 Buick... Look at those speeding marks of the tires when that heavy car is sliding!
Thanks for the pictures !! That chicken run looks like its a blast !! Wouldnt mind going to that myself !!
Jesus thats cool.. Kartsa your 49 is one of the sweetest rides I've ever seen,, and more pics? =] maiki

Those are THE coolest hot rod pics I've ever seen. Period. And we do have something like that in the states -- called Rallycross. Like an autocross on dirt. Some of them are held in gravel pits, or on plowed fields. Lotsa fun. But never heard of hot rods partaking in one. later, Steve.
This is what hot roddin is all about! You guys ****in rock!!! All the gold chainers should check out the video.See what hot roddin is supposed to be. We gotta set up a race like that somewhere in north america. Or can you Finn guys setup a tour for us,you know where we can fly there and uhh 'rent'your rides for a blast threw the quarry Awesome pics boys.Unreal cars too guys. Weld done all of you. To second the motion I think we have found most of the pics for the HAMB calender. Ryan, this thread should be in the Tech-omatic,"How to drive a Hot Rod" .....Shiny
