Having not learned anything by sweating me **** off last week at Bowling Green, decided to go for the no shade scenario at LP Field in Nashville.I got up early to beat the heat.It was only 87! Next to the field is a large s**** operation.I decided it was a good time for a "formal" potrait.

Then I went on in.This looked as though it might have had some serious history but no owner was around.

I use to always hear that Rolls Royces had their hoods locked at the factory and that only factory mechanics could open them.Maybe this is why!
    Gotta love those Zephyr lines!
Along those same lines (pun intended).
A Lincolon of a different flavor

A friend of mine built this car for the Great American Race in 1989.
    UNUSUAL!
This had a nice rumble and aroma of race gas.
Nice Carson top on tis late forties Ford (Merc?).
This one later went out and ran the gymkana too.
Hot Pink Merc. Come to think of it,everything was hot!
    Nice COPO 69 Camero

  6. Great pics and cool commentary -- a nice touch.
Of course, the best pic is the first -- your rod! Love it!
    Thanks

  7. I really like the Rolls, and the Lincoln too. I use to wholesale cars, and one of the "drivers" was a beater Rolls Royce. It was the same body style as the silver one. We also had a Caddy He****. I loved that car.

We made it down for the show too. Wow was it hot. I saw 101 on Friday and Saturday wasn't far behind. If you were on the gr***, it was almost bearable, but the ashphalt spots were real cookers!

I was there and was very disappointed.
    Too many damned Camaros!
There were a small amount of interesting cars and a whole lot of stuff I could care less about.
Don't think I'll go to any more Goodguys shows.

    regards,
    DJ

So glad they are moving the date on this show. WAY to hot. That damn asphalt will burn your flip flops right out... Best show anywhere around the south though. Our favorite. We'll be there next year too.

That is good news, especially for those of us that want to do both the HRR and this GG event. Two extremely hot and humid weeks in a row down there is alittle much.

From the photos looks like there was alot of room to spread out.

According to the registration form that was in the goodie bag, the dates for Nashville next year are May 21, 22, and 23rd, 2010.

Should be much cooler, but you can probably expect some rain.

That MIGHT be Jalopy Showdown weekend. Have to get with Scary larry about that.

Next time you see a car with those hubcaps, can you "obtain" them for me???:D

  30. Here are a few HAMB friendly cars on hand in Nashville that 2002p51 either missed or didnt like....thought I would share. I did add a few duplicates.
