Rolled down to Chehalis with the Bishops CC, and we had a good old time. There are some great goodies hiding in the series of pics... including a Lincoln V-12, a "hot dogger" on a Lake Header, and a wood grained grill. All in all, it was a neat little car show. Good times and good people!
This Caddy was to die for - laser straight body and black paint about 3 miles deep. Suhweeeet! I also thought the laser cut inset in the grill was quite a neat little bit of art!
a few more.... The Olds Rocket engine on that primer red '32 was BEAUTIFUL. The whole car was really well done, but the motor was a work of art. Green car w/ blue Flathead - I understand that a "Hot Dogger" is normally used on snowmobile exhausts, but I guess a lake header will work just fine! Oh, and a nifty little Riley OHV conversion on the 4-banger. Nice - had never seen one up close, only in pictures.
Another shot of the Riley motor.... Count the plug wires on pics 2 & 3! (yup...6 on each side!) It's a Lincoln V-12! I've heard of a woody before, but never a woody smile up front! Last few are some great paint jobs... lots of time and effort in those.
Hot dogger is the metal box on the lake pipe - you put hot dogs in it to cook while you're out riding your snowmobile. When you pull over after a few miles of trail, you have cooked dogs for a snack. I guess it'll work just great on that Ford as well!
down here in South Texas we don't no hotdoggers we just throw our tortillas on the lake pipe they fit good Thanks for the cool pics later Andy
Yeah... we used to warm MRE's on our Humvee exhaust, before they put those nifty little heaters in the package! The best heaters were, however, the M1A2 Abrams tanks - jet engine can cook darned near anything, and dry you/ your equipment off after a rain shower.
Thanks man - I was honored by the offer, and glad to be included in the fun! We had a blast too...reminds me why I love "car people." I trust the Bishops all made it home in one piece? How was Brit's grandma - a little surprised to see that much vintage iron on her doorstep? p.s. Jack is still very impressed by Brit's amazing burp... he gave her maximum style and volume points!
Sorry Whippet... I don't like using those photo websites, as I had some of my pics reappear somewhere else once upon a time - left a bad taste in my mouth... so I do the thumbs.
The pink ghost-flamed wagon with the roof rack was a beauty... it was for sale and the wife was drooling all over it, until we saw the rust bubbles in EVERY panel and corner! Caveat Emptor!
I was really tempted by the eight doored Econoline van, did you happen to get any pics of it? My digital camera ate three sets of batteries in less that a dozen pictures!
I took a few pic's while I was there, but mostly AD trucks. Still getting ideas for my truck. Check 'em out if you want. http://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt14/Nickpshowpix/
Well in one piece but not all cylinders. Brittanys Buick decided to start dropping cylinders at fort lewis (points went bad), but it made it the 50 miles back to my house. Her grandma was awesome, started talkin about all the old clubs in the area she was involved in because of her son, and tales of getting parts from junkyards that are long gone. Her burping ability is quite amazing. I love that girl! Nash had no issues at all on the drive home except for a tad bit of overheating. Turned the fan on and it cooled down. Oh, and my oil pressure gauge went on the fritz. Heres some more pics. Our club, the Bishops C.C.
Don't know about you guys, but for me this weekend was good motivation. One, to get home and work on my car. Two, to score another project to work on.
That Shoebox Ford w/ Stude fenders and Olds taillights is just nuts! I love that Model A banger as well.
My friend brought the 8 door van, we had the sedan with the roto rooter trailer. It was a great show. He did sell it at the show, it was about 10 minutes before we were going to leave.
