Jeez Doug, if you bring a beverage with you, you'll never have to leave the bathroom!

2. I don't think I could have left this there.....well, except for the frame! Eww! It's a pity the Pan-Pacific suffered such an undeserving fate.

Wasn't Bill Rolland's T a facelift on Tommy Ivo's car?

I don't hate you, Doug. I have all the little Hop Up, R&C, Honk, and Car Craft -- and I'm the original owner.

Funny as there was a BIG pile of them at my local swap meet last Saturday, I am sure they were NOT the ones you got ,

I did not buy them as I have 100s of them and figured it would be lots of doubles,

Any idea how many different little magazines were made ?

or even the names of them ?

I'm still amazed when someone here sees an old custom or rod in a movie or TV show or at a car show and recognizes it and knows the history of the car and who built it and when and where and then digs thru all their old magazines and finds pics of the car in its original state.

Sadly, I will never acquire that ability.

But the car above kind of jumped off the screen to me. Just a couple days ago I was watching a DVD of the B movie "The Choppers" and making some screen captures of the cool cars. So what do you think? Do we have a match or am I missing some obvious detail?

Hell! They could all be the same car. Of course there were probably a thousand or so cars built that looked practically the same, and probably half of them had Buick motors!:D

Even if you had absolutely nothing else to do,
between those mags and the computer there just isn't enough time.

22. I agree I always looked forward to the car shows at the Pan Pacific as a kid.
Saw it later in life and wished I hadn't like seeing a glamour star from the '40s & "50 now...

Where was Cyclone Kevin when we need him?

Doug, sometimes you just have to pony up. When I brought home the '55 NHRA Record Holder trophy my wife couldn't belive I gave $35 dollars for an old trophy.

Nice score, I love little books, how it REALLY was.

28. wow Mazooma you really do have pics of everything. I remember hearing about the fire but by then I had already escaped from L.A. I belive the media said it was caused by "homeless" people living in it. but I always wondered if it was an owner getting rid of something that had become a liability.
Are you sure you don't have pics of the F.T. cars from the Winter of '69? that must be the only hole in your impressive collection.
You need to get with Kevin and Jim when Jim starts decorating the Bob's Broiler you could provide them with some killer car decor...

The arson investigators determined it was homeless that started the fire...did look a little weird...

Now F.T. Cars...? Whats that? Maybe I can help....

30. Hi Mazooma,
Awhile back I pm'ed you about the Fibergl*** Trends cars particularly the Corvette.
I crewed for Marv in the Winter of '69-'70, I am always looking for pics of then to see if I can ever find one with me in it. Like most people I took lots of pic of everything else except what I was doing. I would love to have something to show my son
You directed me to the "drag Cars in Motion" thread and I have look through there, so far I am only up to page 260 and so far not one picture of Marvs Corvette and only one of the Javelin.
To bad history has forgotten about Marv he was a hell of a racer, he had one of the first two car teams and always had cl***y cars, even toured with the Coke Cavalcade, that’s where I met him, I was crewing for Goeske that summer, course no pics of me with that one either. Lance L****n got his start with Marv.

I always tell my son "take a lot of pictures" when you get to be 60 you'll be glad you did

Thanks, I always enjoy what you share… maybe I’ll see ya at the Broiler
