    Hi All,
I need tie rod ends for a 56 chevy 1/2 ton truck.
The original ones are $100.00 each,Any one know of a newer one that will interchange and will not cost that kind of money?
    Thanks
    Russ

I have used the rock auto website to comapare part numbers but never purchased any thing from them. They have parts from the lowest to the highest in cost.I am sure the cheapest ones are from china. Not sure if i would trust the cheapest option.Burl.

Check and see if the tie rod end from a 49-54 p***enger car has the same taper as your truck, I believe it does. On occasion we have made tie rods for the early chevy steerings arms on straight axle setups using later corvette (63-82) rod ends. I believe TRW ES-323R & L were the numbers. We still have the tooling to make them if you need help.
