I would think with the good shows they do,they could do a show with a real metal rod, instead it's plastic and billet, figures, and the guy who narrates it is either an idiot or is reading from a script. now everyone who sees the show is going to think all rods are made like this, someone on here needs to write to the show and see if they will do a real one.

For those of us without a clue about what you're referring to can you amplify?

sorry ,it's a show on discovery,a very popular show, they do segments on how different things are made, usually it's very interesting, seen a lot of cool machinery and how they make stuff you normally don't think about, but they did hot rods this time, and instead of a real rod, they picked a plastic m*** produced one. this show might be good to explain the very elementary basics to someone without a clue, but the way they did it, I could feel my IQ dropping.

usually i watch it all the time, they just did the dumbing down of hot rods on this one though, i guess to the general public this is high tech, here's the episode, different narrator, same words. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=076uqBR4GX0

I saw it a while back and thought it ****ed too. They could have picked a rod shop and filmed the show there and showed how a real metal rod is made. Just my two cents.

Thats what happens when someone who knows nothing about Hot Rods produces a show about Hot Rods.

Just take a look at the Douche of Spades Plastered all over the HAMB with the Main Car being a Fibergl*** '32 with a Small Block Chevy thats supposed to be from the '40s~Early '50s.

Whatever ... Just Let It Go cus they DID IT & We DIDN'T... So that makes it OK.

These shows are made for the general public, as such, they're very broad in terminology and usually inaccurate to boot.
I'm sure Fabergé fans ***** about the designer egg segment too...hahahaha

yea i have a bad habit of yacking about machine shop stuff to people who don't have a clue, and i get blank looks,i guess it's the same thing. As much as I hated boyd, I did like some of the metal working stuff on there, the old guy was cool .:D they could have upped this a little, showed some skills.

The show is about manufacturing, and rods aren't manufactured.
They shoot them in a day or a week, and that's not going to cover a rod.
They might even know the difference, but it's not right for the show.

all in all its a good show, i think its as close to a hotrod factory as your going to see, now the show about making fishing rods is a great one.

You think it REALLY matters? People sit and watch Pork Rinds being made ,they most likely have no clue what a Hot Rod is.
