This is not an add, I just want to help someone. An old timer has a 36 ford radio that he took out of a car before he sold it in 1954. It is complete but he dosen't know if it works anymore. Somewhere along the line, he picked up an extra radio head, also. He met a guy that has a 36 Ford without a radio, and they discussed a sale. The old timer has no clue whatsoever what the radio is worth. He could use the cash, so he dosen't want to give it away, but he wants to be fair. What do these things sell for? Thanks, Joel
Maybe have him put an ad in a collector car magazine. It's only valuable to someone doing a restoration. As you probably know, the only thing on AM anymore is mexican trumpets, holy rollers, and Rush.
actually , i listen to him on FM as for value , what Brent said.i had one that did not work and needed some repairs and i could not even give it away , but i have seen working ones go for $300
I have a working one I pulled from my '36. I had it at a swap meet for $300. Generated some interest but it didn't sell. I've been thinking of eBay'ing it lately........
I'd say $150-$300 for a 35-6 radio in decent shape I just paid $150 for a '37 which I believe is more desirable... its in good working order but I think I got a real good deal.....
I've got $75.00 for the V8 ashtray that goes in the same hole. ***uming it is clean inside and not from a field car full of bugs and rusty parts I wouldn't take less than $150.00, I'd try to get $250.00 or $300.00
Update: I talked to him the other day, he sold the radio for $350. Now he can quit complaining that he lost $10 on the '36 Phaeton when he sold it for $15 after he paid $25.
