Were there any factory wheels with the small 4.5" Ford bolt pattern? If so, what diameters were available and would you need an adapter to run them on late model drums (like Ford wires).
Early Chrysler products had wheels that were almost identical to '35-'36 Ford wheels. But they are 17" so the tire selection is limited. They are the same as the small Ford pattern. I have an entire set. I can take pics and post tomorrow if you like so you can see what to look for.
50's Chrysler are 5 on 4.5 I think they were 15x5. Required tubes. Had a set on my 32 with adapters to mount stock 32 caps ...
The 50s Chryslers, except Imperial, Dodges and DeSotos had wire wheels, both plated and painted in the Dodge/DeSoto lines, which were 5 on 4.5" circle bolt pattern. The Dodge and DeSoto wires are very different from the Chrysler wires. The Chrysler (5 on 4.5" pattern) and Imperial (5 on 5.5" pattern like pre-49 Fords) were only available plated and are identical except for the bolt pattern.
I have a set of bent spokes 17 x 3 1/2 off a mid 30's chrysler. They fit on late model small ford axles. need some pics let me know.
Pics would be appreciated. And if anyone in SoCal has any for sale...pm me. I'm looking for 16" or larger.
