Goods news dudes and dudettes - Wednesday night cruise at Omega Burger on W. Chapman in Orange - just west of Orange Plaza ('Orange Circle' to those who don't live there) and close to C.W. Moss and reid's Rod Shop is back after a multi year hiatus. 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm and room for 150+ cars. Starts this Wednesday, July 1st. Be there or be a rhomboid!

  2. Cool!
Do you have a flyer I can post?

Sorry no flyer been stuffed through my window yet although I am hearing that this Wednesday may be the last Twilight Cruise at the NHRA Museum.

  4. Boy hadn't heard that. The rumor was the guy who owned Omega but the Kibash on the original cruise because he didn't like people using his bathroom, even though it is one of the most foul little one hole shit houses I've ever seen. Wonder what the real story was.
    Also here's a new one for the City of Orange folks;

Cool, a couple of cruises in my back yard.

I leave for the River Wednesday this week, but I will be there next week.

If I can't make it this week I'll for sure be there next week.

  9. OK so according to Weasel the Omega Cruise starts up again tonight. We'll cruise by a little late as Wednesday is "Shop Night" at my place on Batavia (next to Jimmy White's Circle City Hot Rods), but we'll be there.

And I've lived in Orange for MANY years and it will always be "The Circle" to my friends and I, "Plaza" just doesn't work for us. ;)

It must be nice..............a gathering at the local burger joint on a Wednesday?!?!? We cant even muster more than five or six cars on a Friday or Saturday night around here. I really need to hit the Lottery so I can afford to move back to Orange County, this place sucks.

Wow -what is this - some kind of joke? I cruised by tonight about 6.30 pm as did a couple of buddies earlier on - nothing, zip, nada.

Sorry folks - I had a flyer stuck through my window which is why I listed it. Meant to be run by a guy named Tony.

Anyone with info please post it. I'll cruise over to Fatburger on Tustin Avenue tomorrow and see if I can get any further updates.

If I had a car running I would just show up and hang out...who needs organization?

  18. I think that just about sums it up...the less organization the better.

Who's up for a completely "un-organized HAMB cruise" next Wednesday at the Omega Burger in Orange? :D

yeah. I fought 405 traffic from Torrance just to get there and be one of three cars. At least I got a greasy burger though.

  20. Yep, we showed up in the 39 Hudson and Whoo Hoo we had an all Hudson show!
OK so it was only us and no one there knew anything about it. Figured Omega was up to their same old routine so we left and ate at Katella Grille instead.
Weasel, I'd love to see the flyer you have so we could ask the guy WTF?

Well at least I know that the one tonight that I posted the flyer for is real. I know Joe and the rotary club that is sponsoring it and it WILL happen.

Quote; If I had a car running I would just show up and hang out...who needs organization? Well Photofink, in this case the owner of the property was the problem previously so I guess we aren't welcome.

Oh yeah, and for you locals, there is a small Tuesday night gathering at George's Burgers on East Chapman, up near Moreneo's. Usually about 15 cars, good time

    "as the world turns".............

  22. Omega's a cockroach infested shit hole anyway. Meet us at Katella Grille instead. We go every Wednesday night after a bit of shop BSing (my shop is as 2199 N. Batavia, next to Jimmy White - Circle City Hot Rods, drop by there first). We usually get to the grille around 7:00. Huge parking lot, good food, great owner. Katella and Main in Orange, and the new Bob's Big Boy is going in across the street.
    So who's up for that??????

And what the hell was up with a 4-8 time frame anyway on a week night? Man most of us actually work!

I'm in - don't need no stinkin' raffle, stinkin' trophies, blaring doo wop music. Sometimes in the past I have seen upward of 100 cars there on a Wednesday night.

The owner of the Omega has to be stupid to turn away the kind of boost in business that this brings, but there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance - I highly recommend Cafe Felix on the Orange Circle - oops, Plaza. THE BEST Cuban food, tons of it, cheap and fast. There is a good reason the magazines rate it so highly. For burger, fries malt guys who don't want to savor the delights of Omega's greaseburgers (but they do slide down effortlessly since they are so well lubricated:rolleyes:), there is always Watsons Drugstore - a real one in continuous operation since 1899. Add to that C.W. Moss Early Ford Parts and Reid's Rod Shop - both close at 5.00 pm, but just across the street where you can browse, hang or pick up some goodies. ABS Brakes are just across the way and world renowned Dusenberg restorer Randy Ema used to roll up occasionally in his old '31 Auburn convertible sedan beater or his 1937 Cord convertible beater, as his shop is just over the next street from the parking lot.

This location has a lot going for it.... but damn, I am beginning to sound like a Tourist Guide!:D

If this doesn't work out, Bob's Big Boy on Katella is scheduled to open late July or early August.

yeah, i rolled in and watched tumbleweeds. even saw couple people idle thru parking lot and leave, like they were lookin for something but gave up. If the Omega-man is turnin away business, well - that's fine with me.

There's a cruise at Fatburger on Tustin in Orange tonight sponsored by the Orange Rotary (same people that put on the "Plaza" show). Fatburger is at the Orange Mall (Village, whatever) on north Tustin. Should be interesting to see if OPD can act professionally, or be the pr*cks they were when we set up mall cruises in the '70's. The kid will be bringing out the Econoline, and I think the Pinto needs a test drive tonight. :D

There is a cruise on Wednesday night at Pepitos Mexican Resturant, also in Orange. Located at corner of The City Drive and Memory Lane/Garden Grove Blvd. They have pretty good food. I eat there all of the time because it is in the parking lot of my work!! Here is the flyer from SoCalCarCulture.com: http://www.socalcarculture.com/Images/CruiseNight_Wednesday_Pepitos.pdf
