ah so you guys are awake... just makin sure everyones eyes are as good as mine. no but seriously a 4 door chevy body with a chop. personally i can't picture it looking good but obviously, i'm no expert. i have tons of homework to do on this so that i know wtf i'm getting into. any help would be awesome.. mocking posts are welcomed
There was Merc that Bo Huff chopped in a magazine...forget which one. And I was a drawing the guys at Oz Kustoms did of a 4 door 50's chevy....looked clean and bad ***. Try callin them
The Merc in question in the "Dixie Deluxe" 4Dr. Mercury. It is a beautifull piece of craftsmanship. try running a seach here on the HAMB for a 4 Door Chop, I know I've seen a few threads about it. Not sure about the exact '50 Chevy thing, but I think it would be perfect. DO IT!!
here's my buddy's Chrysler... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/album.php?albumid=3740&pictureid=40884 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/album.php?albumid=3740&pictureid=40882
If it is a Fastback, you are lucky. For me, they have one of the ***iest profiles once properly chopped. 4Dr or not, it's a perfect sled. Here is a thread for a Buick 4 door chop http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=323504
Here my 51 I have been tinkering with for a while. I took 4 inches out of the posts, another 1 1/2 inches out of the skin, and moved the rear of the roof forward 3 inches.
Thanks, she still has a LONG way to go, but I am happy with how she is turning out. Here are a few more four doors I saved off the net.
See if you can find any pictures of one done by Boyd Coddington for a Chevy dealer in , I believe, Minnesota. Totally awesome, and one of the neatest early 50's Chevys without exception. Frank
