The lower photo is of the 60 Cadillac Italian made car. Notice the unique grill, lower quarter fins, special grill, lower fins, hood configuration, and unique front windshield. The top car also has the Italian Brougham emblem on the rear quarter.
Thanks Cafone, I've had several 50's and 60's Caddys over the years, but this one's been my favorite. I've always loved the 50's Caddys elegance, and then to see one chopped and slammed it just makes them look that much cooler.
Man, this is a great thread for anyone who love's caddy's, I saw a cool custom Caddy today in a Goodguys Magazine, it's a 1954 custom dubbed "Capone" I think it's owned by a pro ballplayer, does anyone have any pix of this car?
Very nice Cadillac... Lucky 7 Customs built it.... I took these photos at the 2009 Sacramento show... To bad the hood, trunk and door was open...
HAMB Cad'ers, I too just drug home a Cad project. Will try to post a pic soon. It is a '54 model 62 convertible. It was parked in a garage for the last 41 years. Totally complete car, no rust except for the exhaust bumperettes and the battery tray. I need help from those who know. The beast was parked with its top down and I want to raise it to check out its condition. I've been advised that I should disconnect the hydraulic rams and pull it up manually. Where is the best place to get to those actuators, the rear interior panels or the trunk? Thanks in advance for advice. Lou
Kool thread, one of these days I'll have a Caddy.... The two Caddys are Club members of SKK. Caddy was built by Gary Mundy from Independence Ks. It is a '60 Caddy with a '59 nose. The other one is Duke Eppersons 60 Caddy. The "Nu Grille" is a 50's Dinner in Ft. Scott, Kansas. I couldn't help it and had to take a picture. Happy Trails, Mick
You won't be able to get to them from the trunk. On the 1951 model, you have to remove the rear seat and side panels, then you can "kind-of" get to them from right behind the door. It's actually tucked away where the rear armrest is. (on a 1951, of course) Charles
Thanks Charles (again) It is only going to get up to 98 today so I think I will wait to do this job when it is warmer. Ugh!
OK, I've held off posting my car because it is a bit off topic, but here it is: 1972 Sedan DeVille, 39,000 miles and 100% original. My uncle bought it new and it had not been driven since '93. I kept after my uncle to make sure he gave me a chance to buy it. Well, he finally broke down and GAVE it to me! Said he thought it should stay in the family, and his kids did not seem to have any interest in it. Car drives like it's brand new, which it damn near is. Here is a pic of my Aunt & Uncle the day we pulled it out of the garage this past May. Great folks, it means the World to me that they trusted me to be the caretaker of their car.
I think my Uncle would bag me if I did! I always told people that being Italian and from Pennsylvania I am genetically and geographically pre-disposed to Cadilliac ownership. I've had about 10 Caddys, but this one's staying stock as a rock. BTW: your coupe is beautiful- my favorite year of all the '50's caddys.
Mike if that's you... It doesn't surprise me you drive a Caddy, after seeing that experimental 8 lug Plymouth rear..... I know the feeling being from PA and Italian, but I hang out with South Jersey guys!I wish there was a gunshot to the head smile...
DEROSAGIRL, That's one of the finest custom Caddy's I've seen in a long time, it looks like 53 verticle side trim, that's a nice mild custom touch.
the De Rosa '52 is a beautiful car, but it loses points for the SBC and steering wheel. just what i think
baggedmitsu, that's got to be the coolest stance on a 53 Caddy I've ever seen, that was my inspiration, for lowering "Nadine" more, and actually, I'm sending it back 330 miles away to go ahead and C-Notch the rear, it won't be completely slammed but it should only be about 2 inches off the back rocker when we finish, and about 2 and 1/2 inches off the front completely aired out, the lake pies should be on the ground!!
