that sounds like a better design, lots easier to do that, than have a snake's nest of exhaust tubing under the hood.

Okay, a new twist to things. Not to get carried away with this or anything, but what about blinkers? Hide a small orange light behind each porthole and tag them on to your positive blinker wire. Hit the switch and now you have cool side markers cleverly disguised as portholes. Much more simple and inexpensive. I think I'll go for it.........

I have seen a handful of customs with '54 portholes mounted in the lower quarter in front of the rear bumper with the exhaust running threw the porthole.

  7. You mean like the '50s era JC Whitney accessories I posted about earlier in the thread?

Close, more like the comment about the light hooked up to the distributor. Except less annoying.

I gave away a pic I created of an idea I had a few years ago....remove the portholes and move them to the lower rear quarters and exit the exhaust through them (flamethrowers would make it even more cool)

Don't do the exhaust thing, that would be dumb........the lights, whatever, I guess, but even that seems a little "ghetto"........

It wouldn't do much good in terms of adding power, seeing as how the port holes are on the side and not the front or hood but you could run hoses from the portholes to your aircleaner. Porthole scoops? When you opened the hood the aircleaner would look like a spider. Actually that's pretty stupid, maybe they function best as aesthetic trim.

Sounds like a Cord exhaust. Big honkin' pieces of stainless tubing coming out the sides.

I dig the sequential turn signals idea. That would be awsome, pretty trick while still looking stock.

now making that setup work again would be great, and yes it's traditional,as is anything else Harley did.
