Nice to see this stuff still gets used. Man there were some jaw-dropping race cars over the years...

Great pictures!! It's something I gotta do before I go!
    Thanks for sharing!
Definately one of the best car shows on the planet!
It covers every aspect of the motoring world.

Some of the guys drive these $$$$$$$$ cars like they stole them. It's just great to see them actually being driven.

BTW I wonder who did the bodywork for the Auto Union in the first set of pics?
    It's stunning!

BTW I can recommend the Youtube of Jacques Lafitte driving an F40 Ferrari. Check it out. Turn up the volume !

    Thank You
Your pictures are wonderful. I am sure that I would not have had the chance to see some of these machines without your effort.
As for H.A.M.B. freindly - without the early racers and or builders of those wondeful early iron there would have been no Hot Rods or Customs - They are our Tradition.

  17. the Mercer lives in Oregon...and the owner was a real nice bloke..we stood talking to him for 20 mins or so....and the engine is 450ci by the way!!
the number 22 Ferrari 250GTO is worth sumat like $8-10 million and at one point I had my head through the side window just to get a good sniff of old car smell....
The access to the cars is unparalleled...where else can you almost get run down by a Veron and 10 mins later the XJ13...
it has got to be the one "must do" event that you really must do....
Oh and when the gates of hell open to swallow the earth it's gona sound just a little bit softer than the 68 NASCAR Mustang we were drooling over.....fook me it was loud

looks great, its cool to see ppl actually being able to walk around the cars nd to see them running instead of sitting in a museum

  19. Thank you for taking the time to photograph everything and then show them all to us here, I really appreciate it. Love to see this kinda event coverage with all these cars from the different periods of racing.-Weeks

  20. Was Norman Dewis with the XJ13 Paul? Great character, he's well into his 80's & deaf as a post, but...he was the factory Jag test driver who destroyed the XJ13...he had the presence of mind to shut the motor off & duck under the dash jus before impact tho...saved his life.

Goodwood is awesome, I miss it more than any other event back home.

Just Googled XJ13 Jaguar since I knew nothing about it, pretty car, and the wreck photo looks like a wad of aluminum foil.

  22. unfortunately not....but I will say the XJ13 sounded just untrue...I was at the factory just before they pulled it down and the XJ13 was outside with a couple of concept cars waiting to be moved......we did the stuff we needed to do and got to take a look round the heritage museum...on the way out a guy walks over, gets in the XJ and drives off......it was the first time I had heard it run and it really was pant wetting!!!!!!

  23. designed and built to win races.....took so long to develop by the time it was ready it was too heavy and not fast enough....never raced......just looks fantastic and one car that could sway me from rods!

Thanks for sharing what must have been a fantastic experience. This, unfortunately, the closest I'll ever get to this event so i really appreciate your efforts.
