I scanned this picture from Rodders Journal #5. It is Dave Simard's Sidebothem 32 Roadster.
What are the small lights between the tail lights and the licence plate off of ?
They look to be clear lensed teardrop shaped.
Any info would be a help.
    Thanks in advance, Smokey

  4. I think Dave is on the H.A.M.B. Maybe he'll spot this question and respond himself.
To me, I'm guessing mid 50's Lucas fender top directionals with the crown at the base machined off or they are a 50's or 60's power boat items.
Dave is extremely clever with parts that no one has any clue as to what they were originally used for.
He can take parts from your great grand mother's wood stove and blend 'em in to a scratch built dashboard and leave as all dumbfounded.

They apear to be licence plate lights.

  6. I like 'em. They look like they'd be absolutely useless for illuminating the plate, but they look cool.

Modified directional markers off a set of Guide headlights?

  8. I was just looking in an older Rodders Digest and they showed a light on a '51 Chevy that looked a lot like that.

    Could be British maybe.

  11. They may be an aftermarket accessory. Whatever they are, I've got a set just like them that I picked up cheap at Hershey years ago, mounted them on top of the headlights on Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup for parking lights.
