OK Larry, Enough eye candy. Time to pull the trigger. Post pictures of the parts pile and the build. Frank
uh...the only parts I have right now are headlights/bar, grille, '40 banjo, wheels, and a Brookville catalog.
Mine is a 5W but it is built higher than most are today. 600X16 tires and a 3" dropped axle up front. 750X16 and a traverse mounted spring in the rear. The build file is here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/album.php?albumid=4843
My favorite recipe for a deuce, tall tall and more tall. I know this ones chopped but the stance is right on...
I've got a couple shots of unchopped 3 window hiboys, but none without a dropped axle. Probably 'cause they don't don't look good that way. Unless you're building a g***er, a deuce coupe has to have a dropped axle, it's a rule!
Please Baby Jesus , help Larry . He is off his meds. and is very confused . You know he had the most beautiful 3window and is searching for a match . If you can find Luke or any of the starwars crew to let the force be with him we would really thank you !
Fresh ideas on 32 coupes? that’s funny. I guess you could build one that fly’s, but I bet even that’s been done. The one you built was almost perfect. I’m sorry but the jalopy lookin coupes just don’t have the look. Like I said before if you pull the fenders you gotta go all the way. That means drop it down - chop it to cheat the wind and have some HP showin. Going fender less your makin a statement , im a hot rod ready to kick some ***, not im tractor ready to disc a field.
I don't know you, so I don't understand why you have decided to add so much drama to a simple thread looking for pics of cars that were built this way back in the day. I guess you and kevin are buddies and just want to pull my chain.
sorry...but if you and 296 V8 aren't willing to pony up the $40,000 to build the Ardun/flathead that 296 V8 wanted me to put in my coupe to make it perfect (which he deleted from his post), then you don't get a vote on the motor...
I DO! Larry, your coupe was my favorite of all time. I say "was" because it doesn't seem like the guy that has it now is using it. You could build another one, it's not against the rules. Or, you could go even more radical like the one Randy Bianchi built. It's the right color and it's got the right motor!
ya'll take it easy on larry,he's getting older, and may have forgotten how cool his coupe was.i think he just needs some pictures to remind him. sorry buddy. -danny
Wow! Could some one photoshop that with a hood? Then it would be perfect! Larry check your mail box tomorrow.
larry....truck cab still for sale to you only...just thought i would let you know. I like your thinking on this one though.....i'll dig in my stash and see what pops out!
that roadster that hot rod pro? posted is pretty much right on. i am sort of lost withall the interjected drama. hasnt anyone ever seen what a hot rod looked like in 1948? they had a rake, but they were sittin' pretty high. i dunno, larry, i think you're on the right track. i loved your other one. but i would want to do something different the 2nd time around too.
