Oil Pressure's a bitch

    good call, most have it in the oil pump, and or in the filter ***embly.

    that's what i said before it could be partly stuck open, making the oil pressure lower, might be the reason they parked it in the first place. I've seen perfectly good motors trashed because of something this simple.
     
  3. Pull the rocker arm shaft ***emblys and check to make sure the shafts are installed with the oil holes for the rocker arms are on the bottom of the shafts. If they are on the top the engine will hemmorage on the top end resulting in low oil pressure. Hope this helps.

    JMO, tear it down and go thru it. Sounds like cam brngs and rods and mains. Or just run it till it pukes.

    He has the right idea! Pull the pan and replace the main& rod bearings. Most likely the mains are worn.

    Go back in and pull a main cap; maybe two. Visual inspection plus plastigage should tell you all you need to know.....slide
