I am new here.... I have custom vws that might be just wrong here on this message board. But I am just starting to work on the 1st car I bought in 1974 (17yrs old) ... 1936 ford pickup that is quite a ****erl. Car c***is, dodge box, war-production flathead (british?) that I have to change to SB chevy and am a little out of my depth on what to keep and what to get rid of, am I in the right place? I have some pictures on the face book account of the back-to-the-fifties show. I took about 250, but I mostly put up some of the pickups. Facebook name is "baja hum bugn" the photo albums should be open for access. the real name is Mike Strausbauch '56 bug with domus pickup kit ~ 1970's kit '67 Baja bug, not quite cl*** 5 legal. '36 Ford Pickup. mostly 36 that is.
Welcome from Plymouth. I have some very good friends in Rochester. Nice town. I think the old bugs are semi ok on here. No question about the '36. Back to the 50's was a gas this year. Did you have a car there? One of the VeeDubs? There were some pretty cool ones there.
Just went up for the swap meet ... sometime should get time to go for the weekend and stay over. I do bring out the 56 locally and tow it with the offroad 67 since the two of them contrast each other and the son-in-law hasn't shown up to drive one most nights. the 67 generates more interest --what the heck! The bugs are a warm up for the 36 ford project. mike
