That looks good, the first thing I did was sign up and then get my alliance membership for later when the old car comes along.

Yeah, but then guys come up to you at the get-togethers...look at the plaque and call you by your handle, as if you were best friends. I did have a feller see the nametag and start to berate me for something I'd said in here. How do people carry that **** around. He got kind of belligerent, so I showed him my NRA card and my CCW....he wandered over to admire somebody's girlfriend, glancing back from time to time....

It don't matter what you have on your car ,if its in public there will ALWAYS be a couple ***holes around . When they start to annoy me I either tell them I have to go piss,or something like that to get away from them. If I would tell them what I really think I'm afraid that when I'm not around they might try to screw around with something on the car.

  8. Been a member for a couple of years. Discounts from vendors have more than equaled my "dues." I like the idea of paying my way with other people's money!

I signed up just to support the site. This is something that gives and gives and gives. Knowlege is the best thing about this site and you won't find a broader base anywhere. I hang out on the Ford FE forum too, its another priceless source of knowlege. You can buy parts, but experience is hard to come by these days.

  14. Used my membership discount with Brookville Roadster- Great experience and all the info on the H.A.M.B. site is well worth the dues.

I did a search for firewall tags and this is what came up. Not to threadjack, but anyone put their Alliance tag in a spot other then their firewall? I'm about to mount mine up in the proper spot, but was looking for some idears.

    Thanks,

    Screws

PS- proud (obviously) to support something that has supported me and saved me a bunch of h***le and $$ in the short time I've been a member.

  16. How long does it usually take to get a HAMB badge after joining? I thought I read 5 days to process?

I ship tags once a week... Thursdays to be exact... So long as your address is filled out in your profile here, your tag ships on the thursday after you signed up!

    Thanks fellas,

    R.

  19. I don't think enough HAMB members realize the amount of time and effort Ryan puts into this site. I joined in March of 2008 after McKee told me about how good this site really was. I have spent many hours looking over the various threads. I have increased my knowledge of the traditional Hot Rod & Custom Car scene. I've even been able to acquire some hard to find items for my 51 Mercury Coupe build from fellow HAMBers. I enjoy reading Ryan's articles. There is not a better site on the Internet than this one.

The one thing we need to remember is, a site like this requires a lot of time and effort to maintain. Most importantly it requires a lot of money to maintain this level of excellence. It's amazing the number of people who join a site for free and enjoy using the resources, but forget someone has to cover the expenses of providing everyone with those resources. While economic times might be a little tough right now, I think it's only fitting, that as a tribute to the man who had the vision to create such a great site, we should all dip into our pockets and purchase an Alliance Membership. I'm pretty certain everyone has an extra $50 a year they could spare to help Ryan maintain this awesome site! I know for certain I would buy an Alliance Membership even if no discounts were offered through other vendors, in the knowledge I was contributing to the survival and continued success of this very valuable resource! Come on guys, let's all do our parts! Ryan most certainly has done his!!
