Since my connection speed has improved, I can enjoy the youtube cache of old car advertising. I've spent a good deal of time watching HA/GR - SDRA cars there too. I ran across this old Hudson ad, which has some interesting engine information. If you hang on, some neat old round track footage is at the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juVXyGZwXe8 Any period advertising on the other brands of engine out there in HA/GR land? I may have Hudson as a favorite, but I like about any old engine of the period. Mark
Yep I agree!!! I would like the hear what a bunch of old Hudsons going full blast around a track would sound like!!! Dusty Hail to the all mighty HUDSONS!!!
I dig that "Instant Action!" Love that. Have you ever seen a whole engine being balanced like that? Assembled? Blew my mind. I have a favorite Hudson Drag Video. Its my buddy in Indianpolis, running a McCulloch supercharged 7x 308. No stroking, no poking, 7x spec valvetrain. Maas "Hot Cam" and a Clifford 4 barrel manifold with Studebaker Avanti AFB carb. Low 14/high 13 in the quarter. Only flaw with the video is that he didn't spool up his blower at the line. Otherwise, the sound makes my hair stand up! Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBFedRnDdkE Hud
Ya know I bought a little turbo off the ebay last year and was thinking about puttin it on the little 262 in my WASP. Don't know if the wet clutch would like it much though? It's just a crusier so I'm sure it would live with some carefull driving. Dusty P.S. Instant Turbo Action? Kind of has a ring to it???
Its been done. The guy I bought my McCulloch outfit from, sold it to me to finance his 262 Turbo project. He is running the 9" wet clutch on a 2.71 rear ratio, the clutch isn't holding. He's on the HET forum at Classicar.com and would probably be glad to help you. Rudy is a stand up guy, who has my unflinching endorsement. Some pics to whet your Super Induction edge. Beware this car, its running the Turbo Super Induction Super Wasp engine. Hud
How about this one? A lesson regarding torque and hp. Nothing like Vintage engineering. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qJTB088ix0&feature=related I'm convinced V8's and OHV arrangements are passing fads, now. Hud
Thats about what I had dreamed up. I might run a blow through carb on mine. I had my reservations sbout the ol wet clutch holding much more than a stock set up? Kick ass pics Dusty
