yer way ahead of me. That was the biggest suggestion we hit on in a brainstorming meeting this morning. look for it next year. Please, dont get me wrong, I'm not trying to pounce on anyone that didnt like parts of the show, or think things can be done differently. I listen to every complaint, suggestion and accolade. I fix what I can and let go what I cant. Things like, you cant hear the band unless you are in range of the sound.. hmmm... that one I've got to let go. Cant help that one too much. getting the city council involved, getting more advertising to let the townsfolk know about the show, getting the chamber of commerce to communicate with the downtown merchants involved, press releases to all media outlets... thats the kind of stuff I can do, and it will make the show, the cruise, the pre-party better.
as for everything else.... see my sig line... RELAX, its just a car show! no need for name calling and such. I understand some folks feel strongly about Billetproof one way or another, and thats flattering on the one side and concerning on the other.... but slow up here folks. Its just a car show. No need to get pissy.
Now thats what the show needed! A swapmeet would have been a great idea, and there was plenty of room for it as well.
Indeed. It will be a sunday thing. Add something more to sunday. I love swap meets, and will beat the bushes to make sure that the Billetproof Sunday Swap is a good one. the Big Band ROCKED on sunday, unfortunately I didnt get them signed up soon enough to really push their appearance. Busy setting up some of the other shows. Will make sure to be on top of it next year.
I described my time at BP as being like a blind dog in a meat house, the cars were great and the people I met were extrordinary. The price was cheap for a show of that quality, I have always thought of car shows as a long day in the hot sun but this one was worth the drive. Good job Chop Top.
I didn't even say anything horrible about the show, I just gave my opinion on what could have been better. God forbid someone has a contrary opinion. I'm sorry that I don't have an 11 hour attention span like everyone else seems to. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the show, just didn't like the venue and thought a few things could have been improved. Allow me to keep my mouth shut next time I don't quite agree with everyone T_T
for the 2nd time folks.... ease up... no need to get upset one way or another. RELAX, its just car show. take a little time off before anyone posts anything more and go look at some of the pics of cars from the show.
I'm sorry I missed the show! Guess there's always next year. Thanks for posting such cool pics on the other thread Chris. And Choptop, sounds like you got your **** together...good work!
I missed the council meeting It seems my leg had other ideas for the evening. So, what was the consensus Choptops, were they happy with the cruise?
Council meeting is actually this upcoming tues. I've heard good things from the downtown biz ***ociation, and we are working together to bring a couple of cool things to next years show. Perhaps a micro-brew pre-party and a something special for Billetproofers and townsfolk alike in the downtown area on Sat. We'll see. We may just have a bicycle cop or two on the cruise next year. Anyone burns out, they get pulled over and cited. Of course, this costs me $. But perhaps the city can make it up with a couple cruising of burnout tickets. All in all going into the meeting the impression is favorable. I'm sure there will be someone at the meeting that complains, there always is. But I know that at least one city councilman is on our side. You see, he runs the food concession at the fairgrounds. So he is pretty happy. Plus he sees the upside for the community.
Good luck at the Town Council meeting tonight... please report the outcome! There are lots of folks out there rooting for Billerproof to get bigger and better... and I think the town of Chehalis would benefit immensely!
Long distence to travel??? Dude!! we came from Fresno Calif. and will be back next year and the next and the next and the next.. Did I say we will come back next yr... SEE YA ALL NEXT YEAR!!! and Allen see ya in Antioch Ca. for the next 2 day show You put on the BEST ever SHOWS. And we have PLENTY of shows in Ca. to compare too.. and yours ROCK!!! The Little **** that is pissin about paying $10.00 to get in could have paid $15.00, plus $15.00 to park and $8.00 a beer.. to see 200 cars.. that was Ink and Iron on the Queen Mary in Ca. What did he want a street show where everyone was parked on top of each other in a perfect little line, Get a life dude. Or put your own car show on if you think it's all that flippin easy..
easy there chief. I appreciate the p***ion for the Billetproof shows... but everyone has to make their own value judgment as to the shows. some dont think they are "worth" it either in time, effort or money. Thats fine. There will always be some that come to that conclusion. As long as I can make sure the majority of the people that come to the shows are happy with their investment, I'm doing just fine. I cant please everyone, and I've stopped trying. so far its turned out pretty ok
Mooneyes! Were you the dude at our hotel with your pops? If so, nice chatting with ya! If not, we had quite a few up from CA. Pretty cool is ya ask me.
Damn, I had a great time at the show. The cruise was fun and saw a lot of awesome cars. We had a great time camping and will definately be there next year.
I heard back from the city council... they had good things to say about the show and about Billetproof'ers. There are a couple things we are going to do for next year that will help keep the knuckleheads in check at the cruise. We will also do a better job of letting the towns folk know about the show and the cruise. We can get businesses to stay open later and the bars and restaurants to up their staffing for the weekend. The city is behind us and loves the show. Thats hard to beat with ten sticks. They are even talking about doing some things that cost more than just a little bit of money to help ya'll have a good time at the show. So having a happy city, and keeping them happy is NOTHING to sneeze at... and its nothing to screw up. If you see anyone acting like a **** next year, gently and politely remind them that they could ruin the show for everyone. If that doesnt work, let me "talk" to them I can be VERY pursuasive. All in all I'm pretty damn proud of the Billetproof'ers and the way the show has turned out. Look for a bigger and better show next year. Sunday Swap Meet! More Bands Burn Out Contest Cruise Night Pre-Party Sunny Weather !!!! (I've put in a special request in triplicate for this one) oh yes... dont forget... if you REALLY want to burn-out... come to the Billetproof Hot Rod Eruption!!!! Bring 10 sets of tires for all I care. Go through them. Blow them up!!! Burn them out to the GROUND!!!!! The track is green and NEEDS rubber laid down. Are you a burn out fanatic? This is your chance baby. Blow a ****** (not in the cross dressing sense, or if thats what you are into, go right ahead ), Destroy a rear end... wait a second.... that didnt sound right either.... hmmm Well, anyway... Do burnouts until you cant do them any more at the Billetproof Hot Rod Eruption!!!!
Yeah Choptop!!!!! - I went on vacation for a few weeks, and missed this awesome news. The town has to realize that this could be a major shot in their financial coffers if they do it right, so at least they are thinking straight. As for the shenanigans -just put a clause in the cruise waiver that says anyone caught doing a burnout in the downtown area will be shot on sight. I bet you only have to shoot one or two before they quit acting like jack***es (and hey, they signed it!).
