Are there any hot rods in Wyoming?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 94hoghead, Jun 27, 2009.

  1. Ha ha. That's the only thing anyone can come up with, it gets old. I changed it anyway, now it goes; Wyoming, where the men are men, and the women are kinda men too.

Thanks anyway. That'd be pushing it. As it is I'll be hard pressed to make Jackson that evening. I'll be coming from Missoula, MT via Yellowstone.

and happy early birthday since I won't be there to spank you in person.;)

  3. Rock Springs. Evanston is pretty rad though. That's where all the Utah "jack mormons" go to buy all their beer, liquor, fireworks and *** toys.

  4. Oh nice, thanks. Well if you're ever through this way...

No there are no hot rods in Wyoming or Montana!

Nothing in the wrecking yards, ranches or farms.... nothing to see here boys just keeping moving along!

:D Thats funny....I'll be thru there on Thursday evening Aug 6th, then again the morning of the 18th on my way southbound thru CO.

You got any cool projects in your garage to check out on the night of the 6th? I'm not asking to stay that night as there will be a few of us in convoy heading west but maybe a little shop tour after dinner?

  7. Exactly...or in ditches everywhere. Absolutely nothing.

  8. Heck yes, I just got a '34 five window. It would be great to have you guys.

GREAT! PM me your address and phone number. I'll give you a call while on the road like the day before or something. Perhaps you can recommend a place for dinner, join us there, then we can all head over to your place for a look see. This is going to be fun!

  10. Okay, sounds good.

  11. I'll come too. You can cook me dinner.

Well, guys there are hot rods in Wyoming but we have been getting hailed on every afternoon for the last month so I'll bet the nice ones are under cover. Mine are in cause they don't run!

  14. Maybe I can get the 54 runnin by then. I am kicking the wife and kid out next weekend so I may actually get to work on it after five years of rusting away in the garage.

Don't bet on it though, I get kinda ***gy when left alone on the weekends.

  15. Ha ha. That's what I heard. It's cool, if you kick the wife and kid to the curb, I promise I will get rid of my wife and kids too. But we have to live at your house...and you have to keep a couple of those sheep around.

NO Rods in wyoming, the law is the only modifications you can make to a vehicle involve rust and bullet holes

  17. I think Rick is still around.

Tons of cars in Wyoming, they get tired of sheep and need something else to play with.

Seriously, Wyoming has a lot of high quality cars, but the state is BIG and sp****ly populated so no, you will not see a lot on a drive through.

  18. Yes, good fly fishing up there!

I live in SW WY and yes there are hotrods here. I have 4. My mailman has one. There are several other about as well.

You can drive a long way in WY and not even see late models! With a state population of 500K, you won't find them on every corner but, they are here.

Grew up in Casper. Pretty good cars there. I got to watch Jim Hawk work an English Wheel while building a '32 Ford Roadster. Im pretty sure he won an Oakland Roadster Show award at some point. Rob Day had a pretty cool T that I remember. Lots of guys into the Muscle Cars (John Huff, Ray Bernard, etc.). John Kunkle ran the Drag strip in Douglas, and I remember seeing some nostalgia races there 20 yrs ago. Phil Cooper taught me much about cars and had a '36 Ford Roadster that Ill never forget- he was the one that got me in the mag biz so many years ago. One car I remember there was a *****in mid 50's kustom. It had skirts in back and moon discs with yellow scallops in front that held stationary when the car was in motion. Kinda cheeseball but when you're twelve years old in the middle of no where it's pretty memorable.

  22. Do you know anything about the '34 five window an old man named Walker had? It was laying about 25 yards off to the right of the Lyman population sign if you take the first exit into the valley coming in from the east.

  23. I heard it was Midnight Auto'd and the police had a couple leads. They think a couple meth addicts stole it to cook in.

Lots of old cars are on ranches are turned into meth labs. These rusty pile o' **** cars have been there so long the cops don't pay attention to them.

  24. I sold Jim Hawk a ton of parts when I worked at the rod shop. He is still building cars in Casper or was last time I talked to him 4 years ago.

  25. That's what I heard too. Oh well. Seeing how meth brings in most of Wyomings money, we all have to sacrifice.

  26. My buddy Thomas has a nice 5w. THAT thing rules...

  27. Thomas Wilbur? Is it a '32?

  28. Yup, super nice car

  29. Wow! I saw what he started with. I am amazed, very nice. Thomas is a cool dude, he stopped by my house not long ago.
