Here are a few photos of my new hot rod project. My freinds grandfather bought this car brand new in 1941 and it is in great shape only a few small dents and a little surface rust, he even has all the chrome in a box sitting in his house. It has all of the original glass. The interior was refurbished and the body was prepped for paint then he stuck it in the barn where it has sat for 20 years. My freinds Grandfather passed away about a year ago and the family sold me the car for $1000. I should be able to get it back on the road with Engine, tranny, and tires, then I can pick away at it as time and money allows.
That is an awesome find of a real sweet little coupe. All I ever found in a barn was just real smelly brown stuff... Nice find !!
You might consider holding on to the trim, in case you ever need it. A friend of mine has five '41 Chevrolets, and he has five spare grilles, just in case. Great find, I hope you have many happy miles in your new coupe
Awesome find. What do you want for the chrome? I really need that head piece that sits right above the grill. Where the hood comes down. It says CHEVROLET on it. I love my 41!! I usually have the only one at the shows. Later--Ray
I finally got my 41 Chevy home last night! I spent a long time talking to my friends uncle about the history of the car and it turns out that his father gave that car to him back in the 1975 and he hot rodded it back then. Changed out the rear end, modified the front end, dropped a big block w/ dual carbs in it and had just done done the interior in all black leather when the motor gave up. That was 1979, it got put in the barn and sat there for the last 30 years. Apparently the grand kids started fighting about who was going to inherit the car so to solve the problem he sold it to me for $1000 and gave them each $500. Hahaha...... Got to love it. I cant wait to wash the dust off and get started! I plan on keeping the vintage 60/70s era hot rod look.
