how does this one sound everybody; a flathead in a Camaro...Clarence Everett (rest in peace) did that one at B/ville in the 70s or 80s...he also held the record in XF/STR (flathead streetroadster) from '71 till into the '90s...Now THAT'S a FORD in a chevy...but 'nuff of that B.S. in this thread..let's get on with the 54 Chevy build;it's inspiring guys to get off their computer and get out in the garage!!!!!!!!!!

Hey ttarver, Whatd you do for the tranny crossmember? Looks great! Looks like your really taking your time and doin it right and do the car justice. Mines taking forever for the very same reason, cleanin and paintin everything. Weird question, but what paint did you use on the firewall and core support?

Looking good, But why did you cut the lower seat bracing out?

The notch kit from Alex is designed to fit in without cutting that bracing.

    Just wondering.

I used walton fab motor mounts and tranny crossmember. I highly recommend both as they went right in with no issues and I didn't even trial fit the motor/tranny. It all bolted right in without a hitch and they are an alliance vendor! As for the paint I used regular old Rustoleum Proffessional Series rattle can in satin black.

Yeah I probably didn't have to do that. I guess I got trigger happy with the sawzall. I plan on closing off the trunk from the rest of the car with sheet metal. It will be all cleaned up and legit when I'm done.

Damn lucky (or i spose just good quality)! haha, with my luck, without a test fit, nothing would fit right. Is it a universal tranny member? im looking at runnin a t5, Ive seen a ton of those tranny x-members but all designed for automatics and nothin for t5. As for paint, Im using the same stuff but the gloss, Im hopin it stands the test of time!
