Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Topolino Kid, Jul 5, 2009.

  1. well i just finalized the details on buying the 315 hemi...went with a hdy lifter motor, it was cheaper the the solid lift motor....and it was totaly complete..except carb...think i'm leaning towards a 3 deuce setup...not sure yet.....also getting a standard shift gm adapter and flywheel with it...supposedly a runner this one is...been dry stored a few years...so we'll see....

figured it would be a better fit for Lil Beast instead of the 354..and lighter to boot......still in need of a measurement from oil pan to top of carb if anyone is interested i doing a lil measuring:rolleyes:..........
waiting for vitran to confirm pickup and delivery dates, but is supposed to be picked up this wenesday, 1 day transit so helpfully i'll have it here by end of day thurs at the latest...

  2. Cool, but if its going in a Topolino it cant be three deuce induction.
I have it on very good authority that all Hemi's ONLY run when injected or blown in them.
    Honest.

Watch out on buying those hemis. i started out cool enough buying one for $25. Before I knew it I had five of them and none for anything like $25 again. It can become habit forming.

    I dunno Man ...

    I got 3 331 Chryslers, 1 276 DeSoto, 2 291 DeSoto's, & 3 330 DeSoto's.

Traded off the 270 Dodge stuff for the First Chrysler.

So i would think it addicting ... But Better than CRACK !

I been reading your post's, Why are you worried about how tall A Hemi is ?

Going in a Fiat that Fucker should be as Tall as Possible to stick Way out the Engine Bay.

That is what hemis are supposed to do is stickout the engine compartment and limit your view. The look is killer especially what you are putting it in.

  10. well i gues i been waiting for the "Great Hemi Spirts" to drop something into my life to help block the veiw...they just have to remember i'm planning on drive this topolino to The Salt and on to cali ...and back.......so it at least has to be half hiway freindly:rolleyes:

but tonite i ben tracking it's progress from pa to here...damn shipping company sending it 2 hours north to ship it back down to me...WTF????? gets better....i work at a truck stop and that's where it is being delivered....dude could roll right in and dump it off!!!.and where he's going to terminal at he has to go right by the shop!!!:mad::mad:..what ever..:mad:.....

hopefully it is there around 12 noon...fridays at the shop are slow, would give me some time to "play with it" before taking it home...

6 months ago we bought our first hemi, a DeSoto 276. Since then we've added two 330s and now a Chrylser 331 4bbl. Yes, they are addictive. My husband was going to retire this past March, but decided to work another year in order to support his 'habit'. They are a beautiful motor though. Baby is going in a 27 Roadster Rat Rod, and I'm hoping to soon find a truck to put the 331 in. No plans yet for the 330s. Good luck to you with Lil Beast. Looking forward to seeing progress pix!

That means at this rate, you'll have 8 by the end of the year!!!:eek: I want to say you have a REAL addiction on your hands... buuuut.... then it sounds pretty cool to me!! :D:rolleyes: Guess that means that one addict cannot call out another addict. It's the rules or something...

I don't know if it's happened like this for anyone else but, I looked all over for one couldn't find anything.. then I found one and all of a sudden they were everywhere! We broke a 354 block and a lot of people said, you'll have a tough time finding a 354 block. :p A friend said...you know, they are hard to find, but they always seem to turn up! Next day I had one.:D Lippy

YES, you do...better try and convince Mark that he needs to 'help' you with your project.
