It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Not really a hotrod movie. But I loved seeing the cars in it. And the old Hollywood stars were cool.

But I wanted to ask you guys. In the scene were Jonathan Winters is trashing the garage and the two attendants you see a V8 up on a chain hoist. Does anyone know what motor it was? I thought it looked like a red nailhead with chrome valve covers. But I wasn't sure.

    Anyone know?

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World is on my short list of all time best ever movies. The scene of Winters' demolition of Arnold Stang's and Marvin Kaplan's gas station is still funnier than any entire Will Farrell movie.

Sorry, I don't know what kind of engine Johnathon Winters used as a battering ram. But this might just give me an excuse to watch the movie again. Though I kind of cringe when I see what happens to that Ford convertible that Phil Silvers is driving.

His or the blue one Don Knotts was driving :D???

I love that movie. Though my favorite part is Ethel Merman falling in the hospital. A great ending.

Man, haven't seen that in yeeeears! I used to love that as a kid and saw it anytime it was re-run on tv. Sorry, can't help on the motor question.

The part I always liked was when the kid showed Phil Silvers the short cut on the dirt road to cross the river. The gas station fight was pretty funny too.

As it says - the best dance scene EVER. This still cracks me up.
