In my life, any creative outlet has proven to be theraputical, at the least. If you can raise some money for your friend, that's a nice bonus. His art is probably just as valueable to him right now as your friendship is - that's a powerful combination and you both benefit from it. Good stuff.

Another thing us proud Americans can be proud of is that we have the highest incarceration rate in the world!

American's are baddd M/F'ers and we have the incarceration stats to prove it!

    -90%

PS I'm being facetious. mass criminalization is what totalitarian countries like Stalinist Russia used to use against their people all the time. Thankfully, us totally free Americans don't have to worry about anything like that.

PPS - glad your talented friend got some vettes in there. vettes and rods are my bent and i have many unfinished cars to prove it!

If he would have used that talent to begin with, he wouldn't be in prison. I was a correctional officer for almost 5 years, and looking at this, he has too much time on his hands and needs to get to picking up trash, washing some convict clothes, cooking some grub, and just flat out earning his way in jail while we pay for him to be there rapying society for his actions. Talent can come in so many forms, but it only matter when you use it at the right time.

The guy has a lot of natural talent, hopefully he will be interested enough to continue to pursue this when he finishes what he is doing now. Might be the start of something really good for him; a guy needs to do something really well in life , and it looks to me like he may be discovering what that thing is ,in his life !

Do you even know why he's in there? That's not what this thread is about.
Doing time is repaying your debt to society.

The drawing is great. I'd be interested in a copy, especially to help with a savings account.

Neat art......very cool that he is drawing in there instead of other stuff......to all the above post's.......DRAMA......I had a high school buddy that had a situation when I lived in San Diego and he wrote to me every day.....6 to 10 page letters with art on them........and I wrote back to the chump just to chat with him........and now he is running a power plant and making 6 figures a year........he still raises a little cain', but the communication is key in my opinion........By the way, his letters were the longest letters that I have ever received that were hand written and I am pretty sure that I still have them.

a bull is a bull. they all think alike, they all got a grudge against a con. they go in for eight hours a day (or whatever their shift is who gives a fuck) and go home at night. con ain't going home at night, he's watching his back day and night because the bulls ain't looking out for him.
BTW they're called Prisons not SLAVE camps: every human being has time to try and relax and decompress if possible.
your buddy has a way to think himself out of the box and that's really great to have. your ideas about selling his art to give him something to start with when he's released is great, too.

not every person doing time is the hardened criminal they're made out to be. some people are just victims of their own poor judgment and a bull stomping their hope down is bullshit in the worst way.

Unless you've been on the shit side of the law (for nothin' I even did, fuckin' ex-wife), you don't realize how the US justice system really works, assumed guilt, proven innocent.

Man, let's not make this all negative and good guy/bad guy guys. Groucho just posted a pretty cool pic of some cool artwork his buddy did for him to show him his appreciation of their friendship. That is what is cool about this. I don't think we need to be assuming what might or night not be happening. I am sure Groucho and his friend have got all that stuff covered. Whatever he did, he is doing his time for and he is using some of the time he has to make some nice art and share it with his friend. I can only see positive in that and I wish him all the best when he gets out and hope he is able to utilize whatever talents he may have to overcome the problems he has. Having good friends like Groucho to help out goes a long way to that. I am glad it sounds like he still has some friends and support. Friendship and art. That is what this is about and sounds cool to me.

How about I change the avatar to what I tell jackasses (maybe even you)that don't pay their bill......Pay Up Fucker". Or are you just pissed cause you were in jail and couldn't do anything as creative as this. I applaud his artwork.....but i'm tiered of paying for other peoples mistakes, and keeping them up while they do their time.

This thread is killing me. I am spending today avoiding jail calls from someone Im close to but am trying to avoid so I dont get involved in any bullshit. I live on the straight and narrow most of the time but one of the things she keeps askin for is an illustration of my version of the Hairohata merc. Role reversal, huh?
