Dick The "Hoodlum" is really coming together. Congrats to Hawgrod on the front wheels. They are MAX COOL ! Looking forward to your first Hot Laps ! 41 Dave
Rob Lee and I stopped to see Dick and The Hoodlum last Sunday after church. A lot of cool work on this frame and cage will never be seen, the full belly pan and body will hide it. But all triangle braces are drilled in multiple size holes and weld finish work is super smooth. The details on this modified are mind numbing. Gettin real close to being on the road!! Can't wait. ~
Had the frame sand blasted, then put some primer on it.Feels good to turn that corner. Started hanging the suspension and got to see the spindle mounts on the car for the first time. Thanks again Rod.
Dick, Your imagination is just beyond describeable . . The Hoodlum is goin' to be one Wild Machine ! Wait . . wait . . yah, there is the Hoodlum warming up for its' first sprint down the I-80. 41 Dave
Thanks guys. Not going to do the body work until after I drive it once.Plan is to keep assembling the chassi in primer to a running car.Once I've driven it I'll take it back apart for final paint and body work.I'm figuring the bellhouse, clutch etc. for the t-5 conversion.Have to change the water pump to a 55 pump to use a mechanical fan.hawgrod is finishing the V-rod caliper mounts to fit the chevy spindles. It just keeps going on and on ..... link to photobucket http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l149/warsocki/Hoodlum build/?start=0
Mac the Yankee, said it earlier in this thread, I see the 34 Edsel Ford Speedster. Looks great, Thanks for the thread, xderelict! Slim
Xderelict, Just got turned onto your fascinating project by sololobo. My hat's off to you big time. Outstanding! Maybe when our two cars are finished we can meet for a cruise, Omaha is just about right for a weekend trip from KC. Keep bringing us images of your innovative and exciting sculpture in metal. Cheers, trakrodstr
Will there be a showing in Des Moines??? Around March? http://www.autorama.com/casi/show/desmoines.php Or will I have to come to Omaha? http://www.autorama.com/casi/show/omaha.php Jeff
I don't think it's coming out of the garage until I can drive it out.Probably this spring or maybe The Rust Revival.Got the front brakes hung thanks to Hawgrod at Shop #10,his name keeps popping up.I've changed the water pump over to the 55 model 235, which sets it up on the block high enough to run a mechanical fan. Thanks to Buffalow Ent. for the water pump adapter.Figured out which clutch will fit a 26 spline T-5 to 235 chevy flywheel and pressure plate,it's 1984-85 Chevy 305.Will have the tranny and clutch installed this weekend. Then the motor in the frame, a drive shaft, build some exhaust.........
Cold and snow, since December 8th, anyone seen spring? The motor is in the frame. Customized the Offenhauser valve cover. Been trying to fit a radiator,it's really tight! I've got the front brakes started, tranny tail switched to the front shift style. On and on.
Hi Dick, thanks for the update-----always one of my favorites. No sign of spring here EXCEPT---the days are getting longer and the sun is higher in the sky. Some day it will put out more heat! Hoping to see you at Lincoln swap meet soon.
That red looks good in these pics, makes that chevrolet script really stand out. Lets get it plumbed up and you'll be on the road in no time!
