I have my pinwood derby cars from cub scouts when I was 9. I should take a picture. I'm glad I kept them.
Like some of the others on here, we were raised really poor, and the first "car" I remember having was actually a shoe that I would stick my hand in and go "vroom-vroom" as I pushed it through the sand. The funny thing about it was... we didn't realize we were poor at the time because all of the neighbors were in the same condition. I tell my kids about those days and they look at me like I've got 2 heads.
It was one of those light blue mustang models about two feet long that had a battery motor. It was a fastback. Probably a 66 or so.
1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 kit. I wish they would have gotten me a puppy or a GI Joer or something. I got a disease that Christmas that will never be cured....
The one that I remember most is a General Lee that I got for Christmas when I was about 5-6. I broke a wheel off of it and my parents took it away. I got it back last year for Christmas, 25 years later. Now my 4 year old daughter owns it.
My mom took me to a garage sale when I was 21/2 or something like this. And I had to have this one car! It was a damaged Matchbox Mercedes 300SL with missing windshield and the yellow paint. My mom wanted to buy me a nicer car, but I wanted this one so bad So I got it. Now I'm 24 and it sits in my room I never liked mercedes and I prefer hot wheels to matchbox, but still, thats my fav. toy/car!!!! wish I could afford a real benz and cut it down
How embar***ing can families be, just had a suprise 60th birthday and this picture was put up on the wall. My first car was a double decker bus.,LoL
Yes. The first car I remember was a hot wheels of the Tom Daniels "RED BARON" car. Had that thing forever. Then I traded my twin brother the red baron for his matchbox "Ridin High" green van, which I still have today. (somewhere)
