Game Plan: Thorbeck Bros k-member, tri link back half, mandrel 2x4 .120 crs step notch and rear section, close to laying out body on 30" over-all diameter tires.

That's gonna be a *****in' little truck and those notches look killer. Did you bend those yourself, have them bent, or are they something you can order prebent? Sorry for all the questions but being able to get mandrel bent tubing like that would be a HUGE timesaver for some of the stuff we are working on. That front crossmember is cool too I'm sure we've all seen these trucks going down the road with the frontend hanging out from under the sheet metal yours is going to look really clean. Great work and keep us all updated 'cus I'm going to steal some of your ideas lol...

I got those things pre-bent to my spec. I also have fire wall back rails available .180 crs super strong. Not that .120 crs **** that flexes. However the step notches come .120 crs, because its a small piece not much flex.

Um, ok along with my phone... My camera is dead to because I forgot the charger. So here are some intermission pics of other stuff I've done.
Air lines, brake lines, fuel lines, and battery cabels ran through the frame. I know, gay and street rodish.

Some battery tray holders I made.

No nuts needed, I have these amazing drill bits that tap at the same time.

    FYI for everyone....

*Air-lift bags are about 1/2" fatter than Slam's. I normally use Slam's (Made here in Fresno). Collapsed height is the sae as the RE7's Slams.
*Total notch height from ground 16.5" (will lay out body on a total 29" tire diameter, maybe 30", depending on conditions).
*Rail to Rail inside width is 29"
    *Rails 2x4 .120 CRS.
*Welding wire used Prostar .035 (nothing fancy), would have like to use Lincoln L56 but welds are getting ground down anyhow.
    *75/25 Gas
*60 grit flapper disc for weld clean up and then followed up by 120 grit and last super fine 9" grind sanding disc.
*Tri link will consist of 2" DOM metal .180 CRS
I think thats all for now.

Im not positive but on my 72 the center crossmember dragged the ground when aired out. I had to cut the bottom off and plate it flat.

Okay ya'll. Change of plans.... Me and Bazooka came to a agreement to do a more traditional style of back half. A cut& weld. Here are the baby photos, I thought I had taken pics of the rails mounted but I think they were on another camera. I will be hitting this truck heavy this week so stay tuned.
