Anyone out there know the name and maybe phone number of the company that rebuilds overdrive solenoids. Mine was working until one of the insulators that insulates the wire connectors on the outside of the cop cracked into pieces. Just one more thing in the saga of the toasted kick-down switch. I'm also making a new wiring harness for the overdrive, after 60 years the wires are quite baked plus there are no colors left on them.

There are a few guy's who advertise in Hemmings who repair them. I know one guy (Pinto) there who wants $200 to fix them, which is nuts. There are others tho.

  3. This guy is the Man for Overdrive Solenoids. He'll also convert your 6V into 12V for you. Check him out. His names Randy Rundle, at Fifth Avenue Internet Garage.

He rebuilt my 6V O/D solenoid for my 51 Ford 3 speed and converted it to 12V. I had a good experience with him. And he'll help you troubleshoot over the phone if you need it.

Talk with Randy this morning and now I'm heading to the post office to mail it off. Thanks for the information. He even has new ones if you have deep pockets.

    Thanks again
