The old trains (and the architecture) at Union Station are neat to see.

Lots of other non-car stuff there as well: Budweiser plant, Busch Gardens, the Arch, the Caverns down the highway a bit, etc.

Go to Creative Customs on Thursday evening. Bill Beirman is very welcoming to anyone who walks in and wants to hang out for a few. Every Thursday is basically an open house.

Also... I highjly recommend a drive or two through Lone Elk state park just west of town. You can see elk, buffalo, and there is a bird sancturary. It's all totally free, although they will accept donations. If you don't see any animals one day, then go the next day. I've gone numerous times and have never been let down. It's maybe a 30 minute drive thru the whole park. http://www.co.st-louis.mo.us/parks/LoneElk.html

Since I ***ume you have kids, and hopefully you're a kid yourself, go to the City Museum. My daughter and I had a blast running through that place. I can't even begin to describe it, but it's way too much fun! More fun than a theme park and worth every penny to get in. http://www.citymuseum.org/home.asp

Have fun at my home away from home. If you see Bill Beirman, tell him Tommy from Detroit says "heya". I miss that town...

I was chosen in 2004 to run with the Olympic Torch through a dubious part of St. Louis. I really liked that town.

I remember there is area that has a bunch of great Italian restaurants. Also, St. Charles is a good place to hang out.

Hm last vacation I had near St Louis was at Ft. Leonard Wood aka Ft. Lostinthewoods. I was stuck there for four months during the dead of winter! Worst vacation I ever took!

Stop off and get a back of White Casltes! LOL! The kids will LOVE THEM!!! LOL!!

Someone on here from St Louis could tell you if they still have them or not, but Chuck A Burger did-or does, have cruise ins. Not sure if they still od or if it would be during the time y ou are these. I grew up in St Louis not far form the place and remember always going there with my Dad to look at the cars and hangout.

The transportation museum is really cool, cars and trains and lots of neat vinatge stuff. Grants Farm is a good place the entire family will enjoy and the Zoo is pretty cool. The planaterium is awesome as well, but I am a nerd at heart!! LOL!

Seriously, stop off and get a back of castles.....and if you dont like them send them to me!!! Man, do I wish there was one here in Springfield!!!!!!!!
