ATTENTION!!!!!!!!! Any one in the Laramie WY, Cheyenne WY, Ft. Collins CO area know of any 48' or older solid truck cab with doors for sale??????? I am looking for the basis of a traditional hot rod project so any make of truck will do, as long as it is half way solid and a suitable builder. Thanks

Do a search for "intro" and you'll see examples. Tell us about yourself, what you like, your car....... but I'm not too sure how an 80 El Camino, flat black with red wheels will go over. Actualy, I know it won't go over too well. Good luck.
Yeah I know my EL isnt the "traditional" hot rod that legends are made of BUT its my daily driver and all I got for now while I'm attending Wyotech. Anyway, a bit about myself: I'm 24, attending Wyotech, have a p***ion for traditional style hot rods with respect to newer customs but my heart lies in the traditional hot rod world. I'd love to sink my teeth into a truck cab to start my project!!! Anyway I've always looked up to guys like Gene Winfield, Faye Butler, Bo Huff, Von Dutch, Ed Roth etc... I have a deep respect for the early customizers and guys who "founded" hot rodding. Sooo I'd like to parrallel my truck project to the early days of rodding........find parts piece by piece and slowly get it on the road ........be it bare metal primer whatever the case will be and continue my search for parts by meeting new people and just enjoying the "lifestyle" of a traditional hot rodder.
Chad, you got your oar in the water a little upside down at first but you'll be ok here. I salute any 24 year old going to Wyotech, driving a flat black daily driver and looking for an early P.U. cab to whip into a traditional hawt rawd. You'll do just fine but I gotta axe you....why in hell are you having a tough time finding a suitable pre 48 victim in Wyoming? I thought there were lota of early truck cabs in the area. Perhaps they've been picked over since Wyotech moved into the neighborhood. A little trip down the east side of the mountain into western Nebraska should net you any one of many suitable old grain truck cabs around... Lots of IHC's used around there.. I found a kick-*** 35 shorty pickup out there once....for $250.
Hey dude, I am over here in Rapid City. I p***ed on a REALLY NOCE 34 Chevy cab and front clip that a customer of mine brought by the rodshop. I have pics on my work computer. All I can say is the cab, grill, hood, fenders are some of the nicest pieces of truck sheetmetal I have seen. They are on a 3/4 ton ch***is but that could be s****ped.
Chad, I have two cabs for sale in the cage at street rod, right next to the student parking lot. Come talk to me. Brick Casper
[ QUOTE ] Are you serious? [/ QUOTE ] nah, not really. but every time im around the establishment, i see a few, but not enough. trey
saw one in the newspaper today 1948 chevy 1 ton, no engine or bed, $400 obo. 406-234-3342. Didn't look at it so I cannot attest to its condition. Been my experience though that the 3/4 and 1 tons are generally in pretty good shape as they usually have fewer miles and the bigger trucks seem to "ride above" alot of the normal abuse...
Hey Brickster! Ya didnt happen to ask him if that is for the whole lot did ya? Both cabs? Everything that we looked at?
