Long time lurker and can stand it no longer, gotta be a part of this. Retired Firefighter into the sled, custom taildraggers since the early 60's. At this time, have a pair of '49's, both flathead's with all the old timey shiney stuff under the hood. Splitting my time between OKC and PDX (Portland Oregon) depending on the weather. HEY OKC GUY"S, what's the details on the up comimg Chickashe swap meet. Jim E.
Cool cars. How do you decide which one to drive each day? Flip a coin? Schedule 'em? Close your eyes and grab a set of keys out of a hat? I wish I had that problem.....
Thanks for the information on the Chickasha swap meet. Have only been an Okie for less than a year (Married a gal here with a large heated garage. Must know your priorities.) after a life time on the west coast so I'm still a bit turned around here. Hope you local guys can keep me informed on whats going on. Thanks all for the welcome and look foward to throwing in my 2 cents, Jim E. OKC/PDX
Welcome from another Shoeboxer. GREAT looking '49s! Post a shot of some of that "old timey shiney stuff" if you get a chance. Based on your intro, cars, and taste in movies, you're gonna love it here. -murph
[ QUOTE ] Welcome to the HAMB! Thats a nice pair you got there! [/ QUOTE ] Never thought I'd hear that comment about a man! LOL! Welcome to the HAMB-Ex EMS worker here also! Nice rides, hope to hear more about them. By the way...LOVE the sig. Now I have "wok-a chicka wok-a-chicka" stuck in my head!
I kinda liked that comment 'bout the nice pair but was too slow for a snappy come back. 18 of 32 years fire service was as Engineer / Paramedic. so if anyone on this list needs med help, I guess it's up to us. Thanks for the welcome Jim E.
If you put some 4-bar Lancers on that green one, it would be a dead-ringer for my Dad's first running car! He ran a Caddy mill in his tho. Welcome to the HAMB!
Welcom to OKC, cultural void of the south. Get used to the 4 seasons, almost summer, summer, still summer and winter. Don't worry, your yard is supposed to brown. If you're looking for a good shop to hang out at, I strongly recommend Beck's Automotive at NW 42 & Wester. Ask for Jeff. Tell him Jason sent ya. I'm finishing up my 51 Merc there this week. It's at the Muff shop today. Lookin foreward to seein those coupes on the street. We have a few big cruises at Coits on 39th and Penn. What's yo wifes name maybe I know her. The best club in town is by far the ratty *******s, but, we are a very motley bunch. There's a good shop over on Reno called Reno rods and custom. They put out some neat cars. You gotta meet little Mike. Ask around for Rick Knight. He's got a shop in bricktown. Best pinstriper in town. If you see a truck with lettering on it, he probably did it. Don't belived anythink roothawg tells ya. I'm going to go take a nap now.
Welcome aboard. Those are some sweet looking rides. I wish I had two make a choice like that on what I had to cruise around in. Anyways welcome
Here's the motor pic from another post. Figured I'd get it moved over here for Firengine103. Welcome.
