so what's the story on getting rid of the truck? that's quite a trip to get a truck that you now no longer own.

When I bought it, my intention was to use it as a true year-round daily driver, replacing my late model pickup. I would have loved to keep it, but just couldn't bare to drive such a solid old pickup in the snow/ice - the salt they use on the roads around here will kill an older vehicle that doesn't have good paint or undercoating on the bottom side.

A good friend was very interested in the Chevy before he even knew it was for sale, so I passed it along to him. Still 'in the family', I guess. ..or it's next 'care-taker'. Who knows, I might end up with it again someday.

 

Real great story of your trip, enjoyed it.

We have the same weather trouble over here in The Netherlands with the salt,rain and snow.

Hope the car has a good home.

Great pics.. Looked like fun.. The only thing you left out was a better pic of the really good looking guy in the suburban that tows/wrenches on Winfields race car..
