Chevy 350 w/broken crankshaft...

    Is this repairable or usable for anything? It is broke in two right behind the first two rods.

    Repairable, No but good for a paper weight.

    Its a 350 S/B Chevy ..... Run Down to the Local Pigly Wigly and pick up a Re-Man'd Crank Kit & be on your way !!!!

    Isnt that the EASE of a Chevy 350 ?

    Easy to Fix, CHEAP, And you can get parts ANYWHERE ?

    I thought it would have to be align bored to be of any use and that is too much to spend on this. Am I right?

    SBC are a dime a dozen,for what you would spend on a crank kit you could buy a complete runner and be on your way
     
  7. FWIW, I've seen just that break before. Seems to be a weak spot or related to the oiling pattern.

    probably savable with a crank kit but i wouldnt bother unless the block gets line bored

    You just got a costly boat anchor !

    So what did you do or use to break the crank ?

    Of course it's repairable, when all others that aren't broke have been melted down and it's the last one in the whole-wide-world.;)
