I love all the old shop trucks...the names, logos, paint jobs...cl***ic hand lettering...well patina'd from the sun...bits and pieces of speed parts and other odds and ends. I just thought it would be fun to get a new thread started with some pics, ideas, or your shop truck! I just picked up a truck this weekend and can't wait to get started on my own...67 C-10 Shorty. Here are a few of my favs to get it started...
Here's mine , haul some smaller stuff and do lettering and pinstriping ,don't need much room for that. mini bikes fit good
Search function is your friend! There's already an ongoing 5 page shop truck thread here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=254969&highlight=shop+truck
Led Sled's shop truck is probably my favorite I have ever seen personally. Not very traditional, but extremely bad *** none the less. As for these pics....the 59 Apache and the Diamond T tow truck is my favorite. I am still losing sleep over making my pick up into an old wrecker or not. The 68 Chevy C-10 is cool, but those rims have gotsta go!
Well do I dare post? Its not a TRAD. Its a truck in my shop. Has 1963 389 pontiac w/auto, 40 ford front end, 9 inch rear out of a 57 ford. Been chopped 8 inches, custom frame and arms, I know I shouldnt say this but, its bagged, 18 inch wires in front and solid wheels in back with some white wall slicks. Everthing pretty much one off, having a great time with my friends on this one... Thats what its all about. Curt
This thing lives in Georgia now. as a matter of fact the guy that BOUGHT it won builder of the year at the Atlanta World of Wheels.
Never quite thought of it that way....damn , now I don't resent him for taking credit for someone elses work. OH well....he did buy a pretty nice Model A.. oh wait he said he built it... Does writing one big check mean the same as writing a few hundred little ones?
this may not be old enough for some of you guys but it's our latest junkyard dog, good enough to deliver our parts in and chase down new junkers for our yard!! pretty solid 76 C-10 with a 250 ci automatic. great little daily driver!! Murf
