i know all too well what this feels like. i got parts stolen this spring also. theives have been around forever you very rarely catch them after the fact, they need caught during the act more often and dealt with properly.this parts are within a few miles from your house right now get the word out any way you can.
I feel for you man.I have had lots of things snagged from me in my short life .Its proly good you wernt home when it happened. If you woulda caught them in the act and done something (which most of us would) ,it woulda been more trouble and $ lost. The stinking courts love that kind of thing .They look out for no good people IMO and **** people that work for what they have.I hope your stuff turns up and the internet can help you find it as others have pointed out ...
man,I hate to hear of this **** happening...but the truth is, ***holes are everywhere..my son is an avid hunter and was telling me about 'trail cams' that hunters set up like on deer trails or areas that they want to hunt in...guess they are motion activated and aren't that expensive ($100 ??)...anyway sounds like a possibility to catch freakin thieves in the act !?!..GGGRRRR
I'll keep an eye out for your stuff over here in Poplar Bluff. Lots of rodders around here and I'll spread the word. T doors with good skins should stand out.
just think who seen the parts last or maybe you sold something to someone who came to pick it up at your house a spotted the other parts they really wanted .... thats why when i sell something i meet away from my place ..
Thanks guys, The more I read your posts makes me think the one thing I don't want to belive, and that is that someone I know is involved. It makes me sick to think that I know the guy or guys that did this. I have called all my close freinds that are in the car hobby and even some of my hunting buddies and told them about it so hopefully they will get worried and ditch the peices. I have a hard time beliving one guy did this, my neighbors said they did not see anyone at my house while I was gone so I would say they did it at night, and the shed does not have windows so once you are in and the door is shut they could use a flashlight and take their time picking the things they wanted. they had to cary them off and put them in a truck off the property because there was no sign in the gr*** of wheels. I paid more for the doors than I did the body of the T and that was before I reskined them. I hope its not someone I know but my gut is now telling me it is.
This country has to many fuc**ng thief's that will steal anything to make money ! Until the courts start making them pay dearly for stealing other peoples items , they will keep stealing until someone else teaches them that you don't take other peoples stuff ! Get a camera and hook it up . Someone knew that stuff was in there and there had to be more than one to carry all that stuff ! I will bet you anything it was one of your neighbors or someone that knows you ! If and when you find out who it was , break every one of their fingers one by one very slowly ! That way they will remember what happens when you steal someone else's stuff !
I'm with ELROD, sounds like an inside job perhaps.....like the buddy's buddy who helps you unload the new bigscreen and the knows you took the family out for the weekend, etc.... on the other hand very sorry for the loss of the parts, knowing how hard finding parts to replace yours and in the same condition is a real *****. hope they turn up... Derek
Yea and they are getting harder to come by I bought some last week and wouldnt you know it made in china and they had led in them
I will be at the HAMB drags in August and will be looking at the swap meet to see if I see anything. None of the parts have any markings that could id them but it's worth a shot.
The person who stole this stuff Knew you, probably NOT a kid, is into cars and has plans to sell. Make a police report, and Email everyone you know in the area who are rodder friends and let them know and ask to p*** around.. Email local swap meet coordinators and do what "Crime stoppers" does. Offer a reward for information leading to the discovery and arrest of this thug. Hope you retreive your stuff. Good Luck. V
Guessing you did not have a picture of the parts - who would. But would it be helpful to post a representation of what they do look like so HAMB'ers in your general area can really look on your behalf? (To the Mods) What about taking this idea one step further and creating a "lookout" WANTED board liike the post office used to do?? We have to do more about this kind of thing. What do you think?
I am getting paranoid with all these thefts. At my shop we have a monitored security system, motion lights, big locks, multiple cameras, a crotchety old guy with a shotgun and dog living 50ft from the shop, and the owner of the shop living 200ft away. And I am thinking I need more security!
Friend of mine had a small portable air compressor stolen. Thats all they took. Kicked in a door in the dark, reached in the dark and picke dup the compressor and left. I said its someone whos been here, a friend. Oh no my friends dont do **** like that. He called the police and even had the serial number to give them. A week later they found it at a pawn shop. It was a guy he went to school with that at the most stops by and talks to him maybe once a year. He was freaked out. This guy ended up on drugs and was with the wrong people. Its a friend of a friend car guy or a total random person that knows what caddy hub caps are worth. You never know who people really are when you sell something and they come to pick it up or their friends into cars. I know this guy has this etc etc and now something is gone. I hate thiefs.
I am on the east end of MISSERY and I'm keeping eyes and ears open for: reskined doors for my 27 t sedan headlights for 46 chevy truck and the tailgate garnish moulding for 55 olds stainless for a 53 buick Marty McF.
I had a brand new lawnmower and my nice DeWalt circular saw and jigsaw taken from my garage. To get the mower out you would have to know where the ****on is for the door opener. The lock on the side door needed to be fixed (hadn't got to it yet ). A guy who worked for my wife delivering bundles of newspaper had been hanging around a bit and dropping off some bundles around that time, being nosy as to what I was doing in the garage on my truck, and I opened the door to show him. A couple of days later, my stuff was gone. My neighbours, who never miss a single thing on the street (retired and nosy) were out of town that week. For once they could have been helpful. So, I am pretty sure the little **** who worked for my wife did it, but I have no proof and he denies it of course. My friend who is ex navy said we should pay him a vist at his house and settle things up. I believe in karma however and I think he went to jail for some other thefts and bad checks later on. I bet they loved his long red hair and cute little **** in there. ****ing *****. I got insurance money for 3/4 of the value, but it has left me more bitter ever since and more cynical as well.
That Buick stainless should make some waves even if you hear of somebody buying it. Rare doesnt put it into terms. Try saving a search on ebay for that one. See where any sellers might be located. If they are dumb enough they might let you come see it haha
****s. That **** is *always* an inside job. I'd guess crackheads would steal what they can sell or dispose of quickly, like tools, the really obvious stuff. No casual thief would steal a pile of chrome and some car doors.
Gonna have to vote on the "someone you know" idea. They knew you were out of town, and they knew what you had.
tell all your buddies that you just scored big at the swap meet..all kinds of goodies..stuff thats high dollar and some low dollar..than later on in the conversation change the subject about 6 or 7 times..and at the end say hey me and the wife just won 7 days 6 nights in Cancun..first week in september...(what ever month)..than make it look like your not there for those 7 days..dont answer the phone and keep it on the low down..watch your **** around the clock and bust em..I bet a dollar to a douhnuthole they couldnt resist to come back and stick it to you one more time..worth a shot?
With all that stainless could be that he was a s**** metal thief. Took the doors too to load it on. Any paid "Landscapers" in your neighborhood? That's who always hit our area. They are very attentive while mowing.
