    The grille in that '52 looks like it was just replated, which probably cost at least $1000 if it was done well. That alone is a big plus.

    Congrats on the 52. Of all the 49-54's the 52 has my favorite grill. The kid will get to enjoy the funtional truck, and you gety a very worthy project that will be worth more in the long run.

    If the bumpers and grill are new, once you take them off to do the customizing, I suggest you put a heavy duty coating of paint on the backsides of everything, especially the grill pieces. The plating is much thinner in the recessed areas and will cause rot-thru from the backsides. Painting solves that problem.

    thanks. the umpers and grill are brand new. the bumpers have paint on the back side already.
