Some cool cars in the car corral and parking lot. Fairly nice day so a lot of folks drove their rods/customs too. Seemed like record cold temps for this time of year too, only in the low 70's at the most I think.
It was a nice little meet... found a shoebox cutom spear for my woodie... price two bucks, only had a one and a five, so the guy gave it to me for a buck... Nice guy .nice show...great weather!! Barry
I can't complain about the show or the weather! I scored some new BFG Silvertown 5.90 15" tires and two 7.10 15" Racemaster piecrust slicks for mock up. Great deal on both and I only lost my phone both trips to the truck. Found it 10 feet from me the first time and someone turned it into the swap meet office the second time. My faith in humanity has been restored! How many people would have turned in a Blackberry?
Must have been the super nice weather made everybody feel extra nice and do the right thing? I'll have to say the most awesome thing I saw that day was from the air show next door when the stealth bomber made a low p*** turned sideways above the treeline! Seeing that silhouette against the clouds was pretty evil lookin'!! Some fighter jet buzzed right over me from behind on the interstate upon leaving, then it shot straight up and over, I'm sure some of the other drivers had to stop and change at the next exit!! Wish I had time to stay for that too but was looking forward to getting home to a family cookout that evening.
I set an all time swap meet record there. I was at those meets for at least 30 of the 40 years it's been goin on, and an all time personal record...ZERO!!! Sold ****in nuthin!! Never in all my years of swappin, ESPECIALLY this meet, have I left with a zero sale. I guess it was my turn. Last year with the help of 1 big item I did over a grand. I didn't even walk around since I didn't bring any spending $$$$. I never need it. I'm glad those who were buyin made some good scores. That's always a good place to pick from and always good prices. I'm not givin up, just like I said, it was my turn.
I had a good time I made around $600. Last year I made maybe $60. So this year was better then last year. I did pick up some gauges spent $15 on both of them.
So far the past years i have gone, I always found something i needed for what ever project i was into at that time. This time NaDa..
The weather was great for this years meet, usually very hot. I didn't find anything I needed. There was a 35-40 frame on the trailer under that really rough Model T roadster, the guy wanted $100 for it.
Sunday morning had a couple of P-51Ds from the airshow overhead. I like 1950's and 60s Hot Rod music as much as the next guy, but when you have Parkard Merlin V-12s overhead, I wished the DJ would have gotten the hint, killed the music for a while, and just let the P-51s be the soundtrack. Piper106
I only paid $5 for them. They looked pretty bad but after about 10 min with a razer blade and some windex they cleaned up nice
i thought it ****ed......same people bringing the same junk, hardly and old ford stuff. if you wanted a sbc intake there were hundreds of them.the 3 or 4 guys with the good **** want more than ebay prices.......
I went friday afternoon and again saturday morning. I didn't take any pics, but scored a real nice 30-31 Model A gas tank with original paint and four good Zenith carburetor cores at the right price, a few other small NOS Model A and B goodies to add to my library and future web pages. Talked to hamber 'harms way'. Really great weather this year.
