1966 GTO, not sure if it had had the 4 speed swap yet or not.
My brother came home in a 50 Ford and my dad spun it out and hit a van in the ice! It was a fun ride!
Wish he still had either or both.......

57 ford 4 door. 6 cyl, 3 on the tree.
We moved from Mi. to Ca. 5 years later in it.
    Then dad bought a 60 Brookwood with a 348 and a powerglide.

  4. Ya! Me too..:D

  5. What ever it was I am sure it was "NOS".

I think I was brought home in a 70 volvo wagon. My dad said he went and looked at an new AMX 390 coupe he should have bought and then purchased the wagon for some reason he always regretted.

  6. Mom and Dad drove me home in their bran' spankin' new '46 Plymouth coupe.
Dark red color, sun visor, 4" wide whites, full chrome package, aftermarket wheel covers...........We were stylin' big time!

When our son was born in the early 70's we chauffeured him around in the empty convertible top well of our 1968 Corvette roadster.
I removed the folding top mechanism from it, bolted the removable hard top on it, then laid an infant carrier down into the empty well.
We had ourselves a great 3 passenger family car that we drove the wheels off of over the next 12 years.

In December of 1947 at the tender age of three days old, I got my very first car ride. The ride from the hospital to home was about 5 miles. It was in my dad's 1942 Hudson 2dr sedan. I must have really enjoyed the ride because I've been a car nut ever since that day.

Nothing as fancy as the older members here, my dad never was a car guy. It was a snot green 1973 Capri, the nice german built one before Ford took over and screwed them up.

  18. '47 Plymouth sedan, with those huge front fenders removed and headlights mounted down on the bumper.
Dad said without the 100 or so lbs. of extra sheetmetal, the stick 6 would actualy beat the quicker '49/'50 Ford flatheads off the line. They would blow buy him top end though.

A well-worn '37 LaSalle sedan, far as I know. Never thought to ask, and now it's too late.

In '46, my brother came home in it also, in '48.

I have vague recollections of riding in it and sitting on cold, stiff brown leather-covered seats. It was a black '40 Deluxe with flipper caps. He traded it late in 1950 for a new '50 Ford two-door sedan. Lost Dad to cancer in '60, he was 42.

'67 Lincoln Continental with the ungodly huge 462 MEL big block. This very engine may end up in a '51 F-1 someday.
